... that D'Arc8 won the latest duel with Nova ahead of the World Cup?

8-way awards at Weembinamic 2024
posted Apr 6th, 2026 - The Weembi FS Cup 2026 also featured an 8-way competition, which turned out to be the final test for two of the three French 8-way teams registered for the FAI Indoor World Cup 2026. The NSL News first covered D'Arc8 and Nova after the completion of the Weembinamic 2025, one year after their debut at the same event in 2024, where Martial Ferre’s D'Arc8 competed under a different name.

Their internal French rivalry continued at the Weembi FS Cup 2025, and both teams returned for the subsequent Weembinamic event later that year, where they faced the Paraclete XP8 lineup of 2025. Nova edged XP8 by a single point on the traditional 8-way leaderboard and finished seven points ahead of D'Arc8.

XP8 did not travel to Weembi Lille last month, where D'Arc8 claimed the next French 8-way showdown—this time by a margin of 19 points. D'Arc8 competed with exactly the same lineup as in November 2025 at Weembinamic, where Nova had previously held the advantage on the traditional leaderboard. Different D'Arc8 lineups had won earlier encounters with Nova and represented France at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025.

This same lineup improved its scoring level from a 28.8 average in November 2025 to 29.2 last month, while Nova finished significantly below its November performance (29.5 down to 27.3) at the Weembi FS Cup. Nova’s team leader, Emmanuel Sarrazin, has rotated lineups across the four events he attended. On this occasion, his former 8-way world champion teammate from 2008 and 2010, Erwan Pouliquen, replaced Aurelian Lemaire.

D'Arc8 - Nova at the Weembi FS Cup 2026
8-way awards at Weembinamic 2025
The outcome of the 8-way competition at the Weembi FS Cup 2026 required an adjustment to the NSL Power Rankings, where D'Arc8 and Paraclete XP8 now share the top positions on the preview leaderboard. Nova are still expected to contend for the leading spots, with the 30-average level appearing to be the benchmark.

Only the new XP8 lineup has posted a 30+ average since November of last year. However, this performance does not secure them the undisputed top position, as the 30.9 average was boosted by an 8-way Super Sequence in Round 1 of the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2026(16,N,4), where XP8 opened the competition with a 50-point round.

The dark horse in the 8-way field—the fourth potential contender for the three medal positions—is included in this group despite not having posted any 8-way scores yet. Only two of the eight team members, Alban Rumolo and Mathieu Quizy of Aethers, competed at the event in both 4-way and 8-way. Their Aethers teammates, Damien Gouriou and Tom Mattoni, as well as the full Nephtys lineup, did not attend the same event at all. The combined 8-way roster of Aethers and Nephtys is expected to record its first competition scores with this lineup at the Indoor World Cup later this week.
