posted Mar 19th, 2026 - The FAI/ISC rules and regulations for world cups and world championships have not only impacted the participation of Dynos at the upcoming FAI Indoor World Cup 2026, but have also affected an international 8-way lineup in the same way. XONR8 was launched by Martial Ferre and Damien Sorlin for the French version of 8-way Hell Week and the Weembinamic 2018. Over the years, team members from multiple countries have rotated through various lineups at events held at Weembi Lille and Paraclete XP.

The lineup gradually consolidated, and the most recent group eventually adopted the team name XONR8. However, the roster has remained as international as ever, which does not comply with FAI/ISC eligibility regulations. Martial Ferre guided the latest lineup to a 23.9 average at the Weembinamic 2025 in November, placing XONR8 sixth in the initial NSL Power Rankings for the 8-way competition at the indoor world cup.

With XONR8 removed from the starting list, the remaining five teams move up just behind the expected medal contenders and the Qatar Falcons, who are likely out of reach for the rest of the field. Nevertheless, the five-team battle in the middle of the 8-way leaderboard promises its own level of excitement, alongside the anticipated fight for first place between the three French 8-way teams and the reigning XP8 indoor and outdoor world champions from the United States.

The second U.S. team, Infinite Octane XP, is closely connected to Paraclete's XP8 lineup. Jeana Billings and Kirk Verner have previously served as player-coaches for the 8-way team. Current XP8 members James Hall and Brandon Kashani have also trained and competed with Infinite Octane XP. Most recently, Martial Ferre and Kirk Verner competed with the team at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2026.

However, the team is aware that neither the XP8 members nor Martial Ferre will be available for the competition at Weembi Lille. FAI/ISC rules and regulations not only define eligibility based on citizenship, but also prohibit athletes from competing in multiple roles of the same event.

Several former team members—Laura Galdamez, Jill Stephenson, Dan Schultz, Ian Pedowitz, and Scott Latinis—will return to the indoor world cup lineup. Christy West, Jamie Caldwell, and Danny Suter step in to replace the XP8 members.

Original Infinite Octane XP member Dan Schultz noted that Jill Stephenson and Ian Pedowitz have been the “stewards of the squad,” alongside coach Kirk Verner. He also emphasized that Lawrence "LJ" Wobker deserves credit as the team’s founder in 2023, having assembled the original lineup and brought Kirk Verner on board as player-coach. The indoor world cup will mark the first 8-way competition where Kirk Verner will not be able to support Infinite Octane XP in that role.
