Did You Know...

... that Niklas Hemlin joins the U.S. Team for the outdoor world cup at Skydive Teuge?

Michelle Karamon and Brenn Richards with XPG4 in 2024
posted Aug 12th, 2025 - Another adjustment on the NSL Power Rankings for the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025 became necessary shortly after the previous one on the 4-way Women leaderboard. This time, it is the 4-way Open Class that seemed to require a change, as well.

The previous NSL Power Rankings in 4-way Open had the most recent adjustment after NSL Live Talk with Gary Smith on August 6th. The Qatar coach suggested to split the group of seven teams behind the medal positions into two groups, the first one with the potentially strongest contenders for the 4th place, followed by three teams in the remaining three Top 10 positions.

The three registered U.S. 4-way Open Class teams were all positioned inside of the Top 7, with the Golden Knights as the expected medal contender, SDC Rhythm XP and XPG4 as two of the teams directly behind the medal positions. The latest change is not only switching the first three slots behind the 3rd place, as it also confirms what was obvious before. XPG4 has turned into a "U.S. Team" that does not have a specific name yet, and there is also a change in the lineup. It became obvious when XPG4 did not sign up for the 4-way Women competition and appeared with the same name on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard.

Two former XPG4 members, Michelle Karamon and Brenn Richards, were planning to join forces with U.S. 4-way legends Eliana Rodriguez and Craig Girard for the outdoor world cup, and the original lineup made it easily into the group of top contenders for the 4th place.

Eliana Rodriguez and Craig Girard were training and competing together in 4-way and 8-way between 2005 and 2010. They won 4-way gold medals together in Maubeuge 2008 and missed another one only by a few points in Menzelinsk 2010.

Eliana Rodriguez and Craig Girard continued to be very active in Formation Skydiving competition and would surely be able to keep up with their new team mates Michelle Karamon and Brenn Richards. XPG4 finished with a 22.7 outdoor team record average at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2024.

The history of Arizona Airspeed's Vertical and Odyssey lineups between 2005 and 2010 is showing most of their outdoor meet averages on an even higher level 15 years ago.

However, Eliana Rodriguez will not be able to train and compete at the moment, and the U.S. Team needed a replacement for the event at Skydive Teuge in the Netherlands. Michelle Karamon, Brenn Richards (Prison 9) and Craig Girard (Mandatory Fun!) attend the event with their respective 8-way teams and will be in Teuge anyway.

They found a more than adequate substitute with Niklas Hemlin, who had his own plans for the outdoor world cup, where he will be coaching the Golden Knights. He agreed to take the inside center slot for the U.S. Team, which is now very close to the complete lineup of the Tunnel Vision indoor team.

Michelle Karamon, Brenn Richards and Niklas Hemlin had outscored the Golden Knights at the Wind Games 2025 and finished in 3rd place with Keith Conner in the lineup. Then they placed 2nd behind the Golden Knights at the national indoor championship at Paraclete XP. However, it is not the complete Tunnel Vision lineup in Teuge, and the U.S. Team with Craig Girard and Taylor Buffington on camera is probably the new top contender for the 4th place.
