posted Jun 11th, 2025 - Three U.S. teams and three teams from the Czech Republic met each other on the combined leaderboard after using the same competition draw, the Czech teams in Prostejov, host of the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2014, the three Midwest Skydiving League teams at Skydive Chicago, host of the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2016.

None of the six teams last weekend is yet ready to compete at an outdoor world championship, even though the Czech Republic even has a world-class team by now, Skywalkers Junior, and the United States are always a top contender with the national team in 4-way Open. Jan Klapka's M Team competed last weekend in Prostejov, while his former team Bad Boys could not attend the world meet in 2014 at the same place. The NSL News reported shortly before the competition that the Czech national team had to withdraw:

"Jan Klapka said that Center Inside Vaclav Prokes is still trying to recover from a shoulder injury. He will not be back in action before September. The Bad Boys had their alternate Jarda Smitka in the Center Outside slot, while Jan Lukavec took Vaclav Prokes' Center Inside position. Alternate Jarda Smitka is not available at the time of the world meet, and the Bad Boys decided to withdraw from the 4-way Open Class competition in Prostejov." Skydive Chicago's home team, SDC Rhythm XP, made it to the outdoor world championship in Tanay 2021, after winning the USPA Nationals 2019. One of the SDC Rhythm XP members of 2019 is now the team captain of the current lineup, and Doug Barron was present at the 2025 season opener of the Midwest Skydiving League.

In fact, half of the current Rhythm lineup were active as player-coaches, Doug Barron with the Rhegulators on the AAA Class leaderboard, Steve Loufek with up4Rheview in the AA Class. Rhegulators had an internal MWSL duel in the AAA Class with QuadRhivium, while Steve Loufek's team had the three Czech AA teams as their opponents. Rhythm's team videographer Charlie McGee was filming both teams.

The lineups of the two Rhythm player-coaches were new on NSL leaderboards, even though some of the team members have trained and competed with other teams in the past. SDC QuadRhivium is only new on AAA Class leaderboards this year.

QuadRhivium were one of the contenders for medals in the AA/Intermediate Class of the USPA National Championship 2024. They finished three points behind the 3rd place with their 2024 lineup. They still decided to move up to AAA Class competition, with Jamie Caldwell replacing Pete Eng for the 2025 season. The new lineup made their first AAA experiences at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2025, where the Air Force teams swept the AAA/Advanced Class medal positions. However, the 13.0 outdoor average last weekend is more than promising for this year's USPA Nationals. Any 13+ average usually sets up a AAA/Advanced Class team at least in contention for USPA medals. SDC QuadRhivium seem to be on track for the challenge.
