Did You Know...

... that a preview of the Russian Tanay 8-way videos is now available?

Team videographer Kirill Kirillov at work over Skydive Dubai
posted Apr 25th, 2021 - The first four rounds of the Shamrock Showdown Cloud's 8-way competition between the four best teams in the world are now complete. The ranking after Round 4 is still not available yet, as the videos of the Russian 8-way team from Tanay still have to be processed and judged by the same InTime panel that evaluated the other Shamrock rounds.

However, the Tanay 8 videos are available, and the preview allows a closer look at the first four rounds. The online preview resembles the first viewing at a live competition before the official scores appear on the viewing screens and the leaderboards.

The hobby judges in the audience can grab their stop-watches and electronic devices to get the first impressions of the scoring level. The number of completed scoring formations within the 50 seconds of working time in 8-way is at least a preliminary number, even if the judging panel may post different final scores for each round later.

The background of the Tanay 8 videos is showing where the Russian world cup champions performed the meet rounds. The desert facilities of Skydive Dubai hosted the training camps of Tanay 8 on a regular basis during the winter season.

FAI 8-way bronze medals in Australia 2018: Qatar Falcons
The NSL News had just published a comprehensive preview before team videographer Kirill Kirillov uploaded the videos of the first four Shamrock Showdown Cloud rounds. The participating teams on the current leaderboard can still upload missing meet videos, while the event is officially over now.

The preview of the Tanay 8 videos confirms that the defending world cup champions from Russia, the French national 8-way team and AZXP8 will most likely feature the most exciting 8-way battle in the history of Formation Skydiving competition at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 this August.

On top of it, the Qatar Falcons have been showing the potential to challenge the three top contenders as a very serious underdog. It is amazing enough that the reigning FAI bronze medalists of the FAI Outdoor World Meet 2018 in Australia are in an underdog position for medals three years later at the next 8-way world championship, even with a significantly increased performance and scoring level.

France had not sent an 8-way team to Australia, and Mathieu Bernier is now back with vengeance and a new and young 8-way lineup. The Russian scores and links to the official InTime videos will be added to the leaderboard as soon as possible.
