Did You Know...

... that the Czech 4-way teams are not professional competitors?

Jan Klapka conducts the meet briefing last weekend in Most
posted Jul 7th, 2020 - The Czech Republic had a very strong comeback into 4-way Formation Skydiving competition after the country's corona virus break. In fact, June/July has been one of the busiest times for the Czech 4-way teams. It seems like they were very eager to get back into indoor and outdoor action after patiently waiting out the impact of the pandemic in their country.

The NSL News is quickly following up on yesterday's update from the Czech Republic, which covered the first 4-way outdoor competition for original HF Cubs member Sabina Cioleková.

The regular NSL News updates from the Czech Republic and the country's 4-way activities could easily create the false impression that the country has professional teams and competitors who train and compete all the time. That is surely not the case, as they are all traditional "amateur teams" with recreational indoor and outdoor participants.

However, Jan Klapka has set in place well organized structures for training and competition, which make it easy for individuals to join teams and enjoy the 4-way activities. He has been cooperating with the NSL Network since he began to create his encompassing 4-way world in the Czech Republic, and his teams now visit international events on a regular basis, as well. His program has already generated world champions in 4-way Junior, and the 4-way Women event could be next with HF Cubs medals for the Czech Republic.

Highscores of the Hurricane Factory team for the Indoor Cloud League sequences in June
No more Rookie Class scores for the Indoor Cloud League: HF Chameleons
After her first outdoor competition with the Dream Team Sabina Cioleková was back together with her HF Cubs team mates in June, first at the last meet of the Czech Tunnel League, and also for the Indoor Cloud Leagueevent at the Hurricane Factory.

Jan Klapka could enjoy a new record participation for his ICL June event, when 11 Czech 4-way teams competed for the six slots on the ICL leaderboard. As in May, HF Flying Circus won the AAA/AA combination over the HF Cubs, this time only by one single point. M Team, Accord and 4 V Tunelu added the A Class sequence once again to their monthly competition behind the two top teams. Jan Klapka's M Team won this internal 3-team battle, closely followed by 4 V Tunelu with his wife Jirina Klapkova in the lineup.

As usual, the junior teams took care of the other four sequences with new and impressive scores. Jan Klapka is now missing the highscores that the HF Chameleons used to add to the Hurricane Factory account. They are not eligible any longer for the three Rookie Class sequences (RRR - RR - R) after posting 25+ scores twice. The young Chameleons now have to work their way up to the scoring level of the HF Flying Rebels and the HF Dragonflies.

Jan Klapka's ICL team lost five points due to the circumstances, as the 24-pointer of the Chameleons cannot be used for the total. However, the Invisible juniors and Rusalky compensate for the loss of the Chameleon scores.

Dream Team last weekend in Most
The 4-way junior teams are obviously not ready to jump from planes yet, even though the HF Cubs are the perfect example for what Jan Klapka has in mind in the long run. All four team members and reigning indoor world champions are getting ready to continue together with outdoor training and competition.

There was more overlapping participation between indoor and outdoor competition at the first Czech outdoor meet in 2020 last weekend. In fact, all five AAA Class senior teams at the indoor meet of the Czech Skydiving League were also represented at the skydiving center in Most for the five completed outdoor rounds, and they are also on the Czech ICL leaderboard for June.

HF Flying Circus had the complete lineup at all three events. As reported yesterday, the Dream Team included HF Cubs member Sabina Cioleková, while her outdoor piece partner Hana Opálková competed with 4 V Tunelu at the indoor meet in June. Dana Stankova was with her own Accord lineup at the indoor events. Jan Klapka's M Team had the complete lineup at the indoor events, and his wife Jirina Klapkova replaced M Team member Jaroslav Petras in Most.
