... that the HF Cubs continue in 4-way Women for the Czech delegation?

HF Cubs versus Aerokart Ak'demie since 2016
posted Apr 27th, 2019 - The NSL News mentioned earlier that the FAI Indoor World Meet was the first FAI event where teams from four different countries won the gold medals in the four official 4-way categories, NMP PCH HayaBusa for Belgium, Nephtys Weembi for France, SDC Core for the Unites States, and HF Cubs for the Czech Republic. Paraclete XP8 added a second set of gold medals for the U.S. delegation at the 8-way Challenge.

Another preview had mentioned the potential for a complete FS Sweep by the French delegation, which became impossible when the host country of the event did not field a VFS team to defend the 2017 title. France eventually ended up with gold in 4-way Women and silver in 4-way Open and 4-way Junior, plus the 2nd place in 8-way.

The HF Cubs were one of the teams who interfered with the French plans, and who added a new country to the list of world champions in Formation Skydiving competition, the Czech Republic.

It could not have been a surprise for the French Aerokart Ak'demie project that the HF Cubs would be very competitive at Weembi Lille. The young Czech ladies have been competing on a regular basis and posted their scores on Indoor Cloud League and World Tunnel League leaderboards. The consistent progression indicated that the Cubs had caught up with the French junior performance and scoring level, even though Jan Klapka had launched the Czech junior project a year after the Aerokart Ak'demie.

Both teams had met each other at international events, while they also competed nationally, the HF Cubs much more frequently than the Aerokart teams. The scoring numbers at the events where they met were showing clearly that a showdown on the same performance level would eventually be inevitable.

The NSL News has followed both teams over the years, and the extensive coverage of Jan Klapka's junior project at the Hurricane Factory in the Czech Republic was due to his ever-growing number of new 4-way junior teams and competitors. The NSL News eventually used the visit in Europe (World Challenge - FAI Indoor World Meet also for a visit in the Czech Republic after both events to witness Jan Klapka's 4-way junior factory.

He is preparing his new skydiving school in Most, host of the Czech 4-way Open Championship 2019, for the time when his 4-way juniors will be ready to jump from planes, as well. His goal is to continue the 4-way project for the juniors outdoors, as well, as long as they show enough interest in 4-way training and competition.

Jan Klapka was not available for the weekly junior training camp when the NSL News visited the Hurricane Factory in Prague. His wife Jirina Klapkova, HF Flying Circus member Martina Vavackova, and HF Chicks' Jitka Mancíková were coaching the youngest 4-way participants on a Wednesday afternoon after school.

The young fliers were using the April sequences of the Indoor Cloud League to learn and train the dive pool, just as the new 4-way Junior world champions from the Czech Republic did at the beginning of their 4-way career.

Jan Klapka had introduced the four HF Cubs to the NSL News audience right after the award ceremony at Weembi Lille, where they explained briefly what the near future will bring for them. The complete lineup will continue with 4-way senior competition in the AAA Class, even though only one team member would not be eligible for the junior category any longer, after an upcoming 18th birthday.

Jan Klapka and the HF Cubs agreed that it will be better for the same lineup to stay together and send the next 4-way junior team to the international events, as the NSL News explained on March 15th.

This decision will also create a very promising situation for the Czech delegation, as the HF Cubs will be eligible for the 4-way Women category, where 15 years is the minimum age. The HF Cubs have already posted a 23+ average in the AAA Class, which would win a ranking position in the middle of the 4-way Women field at a world meet or world cup. The medal positions will surely be in reach if the progression of the HF Cubs continues in a similar way, and even the next gold medals in a different FAI category might soon be in reach for Jan Klapka's Formation Skydiving delegation...
