Did You Know...

... that Ari Perelman and Amer Kassas had a very busy 4-way agenda together in December?

SCZ ZEUSpeed at the NSL Outdoor Championship 2017
posted Dec 16th, 2017 - Amer Kassas, founder of the ZEUS 4-way project at Skydive City in Zephrhills, Florida, has been helping to organize and manage activities of the Florida Skydiving League for a while. He had a special treat for the regular participants this month.

He found out that Arizona Airspeed's new point and 2017 USPA 4-way champion, Ari Perelman, was planning to visit Florida in December where he used to live, work and skydive for many years.

Amer Kassas did not hesitate asking Ari Perelman to attend recent events as coach and competitor, and the Airspeed member agreed to add some camps and meets to his Florida agenda.

His first 4-way action came with the NSL Outdoor Championship 2017 where his name in the ZEUS lineup also changed the team name for the event: ZEUSpeed.

The 10-round meet turned out to be the first AAA outdoor competition for Amer Kassas and Erica Gorski both. Their team mates James Hall and Ari Perelman helped SCZ ZEUS to keep the NSL Shugar Cup at Skydive City.

Amer Kassas and Ari Perelman then moved on together to the next FSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY Orlando, which included the Indoor Cloud League competition sequences for December.

Ari Perelman has attended many Indoor Cloud League events in Orlando, while the one this month was the first one for him at the new iFLY facilities.

Ari Perelman in fact attended, managed and coached at the inaugural Indoor Cloud League event in July 2012, as the NSL News had reported on 6 July 2012. The Florida team lost the July 2012 duel with iFLY Seattle (84 - 110) where Ari Perelman competed in two different lineups.

Amer Kassas met Ari Perelman when the original ZEUS lineup joined the FSL Tunnel Kickers and Indoor Cloud League events in 2013.

Ari Perelman's 4-way career began in Florida much earlier, and it goes back to Florida Skydiving League events in 2007. The NSL News posted his profile story on 6 June 2016 after Arizona Airspeed had officially announced that he would become the new team member at the end of the 2016 season when Thomas Hughes would retire.

After the ZEUSpeed competition at the NSL Championship 2017, Amer Kassas and Ari Perelman were back together in the AAA/AA Class lineup that posted the Indoor Cloud League scores for iFLY Orlando on December 6. Simba members Robert Chromy and Trevor Cedar completed the indoor lineup.

Ari Perelman was also player-coaching two other lineups in Orlando, and he competed against one of his future opponents in the AA Class.

South African 4-way competitor Alex Jordaan, Savolo member at the FAI Mondial 2016, was visiting Florida at the time of the Indoor Cloud League event in Orlando and joined one of the five lineups. Both will compete with Arizona Airspeed and Savolo at the FAI World Meet 2018.

Ari Perelman's 4-way agenda in Florida was still not over after the FSL Tunnel Kicker and Indoor Cloud League competition.

He continued with two lineups of FSL Tunnel Kickers at the IBA December competition, where the international team with Alex Jordaan attended, as well.

The Amer Kassas/Ari Perelman ZEUS combination, this time with Jimmy Xu and Sally Hathaway, won the AAA Class competition (18.7 - 18.4) over Ari-Speed. Leslie Eggenberger, Sebastian Jimenez and James Hall completed Ari Perelman's second lineup.
