Did You Know...

... that ACM won the Revenge over NFTO in Bedford?

Awards at the Revenge 2017
posted Nov 14th, 2017 - This year's Revenge at Twinwoods Adventure in Bedford, host of the annual World Challenge, was indeed at least a successful opportunity to change the outcome for one team that attended both events.

ACM and NFTO had ended up right next to each other in April this year, and the British national outdoor team in 4-way Women had the upper hand at the first meet that included the family duel between Anna and Gareth Hicks.

Both teams were back for the Revenge in October, and it was once again a close battle, even though the difference was six points this time, compared to the 2-point thriller at the World Challenge.

NFTO competed with the same lineup that will represent Great Britain next year at the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving in Australia, while ACM had a new team member who has not been on the team roster at any previous events so far.

David Rodgers replaced Rich Rust for the second showdown with NFTO this year, and the ACM October lineup posted a new team record 23.3 average.

Upper hand at the World Challenge: NFTO
NFTO had finished with a 23.1 average at the World Challenge and were four points short of their own record average posted in April. However, even the 23.1 average would not have been enough to win the Revenge and would have resulted in the same 2-point deficit that ACM had after the ten rounds at the World Challenge.

ACM's 23.3 average was also a new personal best for the new team member, David Rodgers. He is the team founder of 4mula, the British silver medalist at the UK Nationals 2017 where his team had finished ahead of NFTO in 4th place.

4mula has not attended an indoor competition since the team was founded in 2010. Indoor training was a part of the training agenda under player coach Joey Jones. However, David Rodgers has no previous indoor meet results in the SKYLEAGUE.COM records, which makes the 23.3 average the highest average for all ACM team members at the Revenge.

There was a third British AAA Class team that tied two of the highscores for the ten rounds. Awtaskic was probably a team for the meet only, as the members have been competing with other teams this year.

Kate Lindsley with Volition in Montreal
Steve Hamilton has been in Satori's XL lineup, won the UK Nationals and competed with his team at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2017. Satori XL is the British national team in 4-way Open and will represent the country next year in Australia.

Will Cooke stepped in for Team 4mula when Ady King joined Satori XL for the 2017 season. 4mula's David Rodgers now outscored his 2017 team mate Will Cooke and Satori XL's Steve Hamilton with ACM at the Revenge. Catherine Leather still competed in the A Class in 2015 with Blackhawk, after a year in the Rookie Class with the same team. Two years later, she posted the AAA Class 21.9 average at the Revenge with Awtaskic.

Last and not least, Kate Lindsley completed the lineup. As Steve Hamilton, she just came back from the FAI indoor meet in Montreal where she won the silver medals for the UK delegation with Volition in 4-way Women.

World Challenge manager Bryony Doughty said that the first teams have already signed up for the 2018 event...
