Did You Know...

... that the Wind Games ended with a win-win-win situation?

Winner: NMP PCH HayaBusa in action
posted Feb 7th, 2017 - The first showdown of the year between NMP PCH HayaBusa and Weembi Lille Wind Games 2017 came to a happy end for all three teams on the top of the leaderboard.

The Belgian 4-way world champions fended off the next Weembi challenge successfully with a strong performance in the second half of the meet. HayaBusa was trailing by two points after Round 3, and both teams were tied at the end of the first meet day.

Weembi was hoping to keep the distance to HayaBusa within ten points, as Roy Janssen told the Sun Path Products NSL News on 24 January 2017, and they did so with a new team record average. The 5-point distance is the closest one of the three direct confrontations since October 2015. The world's two best indoor 4-way teams now have less than six weeks to get ready for the next showdown at the French Indoor Nationals 2017 in Weembi's 17-foot home chamber in Lille.

Winner: Weembi Lille in action
Weembi pushed HayaBusa to the team's best performance level. The indoor and outdoor world champions had no time to relax until Round 10 came along. There was Weembi pressure all the time before HayaBusa eventually got a break in Round 9 and had a 5-point lead going into Round 10.

The Weembi pressure produced HayaBusa's second best 10-round average in team history. The highest one was posted by the Belgians at the Aerokart Indoor Championship 2012, and it was the result of a very tough battle, as well.

The challengers at the 2012 competition were almost exactly the same as last weekend. Julien Degen, Mathieu and Guillaume Bernier had Manu Sarrazin in the lineup when they posted the highest indoor average that a French team has ever scored. Weembi has not posted a historic French number with the 32.0 average - not yet...

The Wind Games were also very successful for the French national team in 4-way Open. RealFly-Sion improved the team's best indoor average of 27.9 at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2016 to 30.3 in Empuriabrava last weekend.

The two French top contenders for the national indoor title at the French Indoor Nationals 2017 have once again moved closer to each other, and a 17-point distance is left for Weembi to defend in six weeks.

The winner of this duel qualifies for the FAI Indoor World Meet 2017 and will compete for France in Montreal in October. The French Indoor Nationals will feature the next HayaBusa/Weembi showdown and also the battle for the French slot in Canada at the same time.
