Did You Know...

... that the Bamaboys finished the 2016 season with a perfect record?

posted Dec 19th, 2016 - The Bamaboys are not new to the 4-way fans who follow the Sun Path Products NSL News on a regular basis and who also pay attention to all categories.

The Rookie Class team from Alabama competed at each of the four Southern Skydiving League meets this year and improved the average consistently, with a perfect progression record posted by the same lineup.

Jason Adams (Outside Center), Craig Kilgo (Inside Center), James Phillips (Tail) and Josh Smith (Point) then made plans for the NSL Championship and had only one personnel change.

David Price replaced Alex Khaimenov on camera last weekend in DeLand.

Rookie Class champion 2016: Bamaboys
The Bamaboys did not really aim exactly at the 10-average benchmark when they arrived in DeLand, even though they were obviously on track. However, they completed a few training jumps on Friday morning and started into the meet with two 8-pointers.

The successful road to the 10.0 average after six rounds began on Saturday morning when the Bamaboys started the new competition day with a new team record for a single round. The 13-pointer in Round 3 beat the previous 12-pointer and set the foundation for the upcoming record average.

The Bamaboys added two more 11-pointers to the championship account at the right time and finished with the 10.0 average and the perfect finish of a great Rookie Class season.

The Bamaboys took back home to Skydive Alabama the Rookie Class trophy that they had brought to DeLand on Thursday. Last year's best Rookie Class team of the Southern Skydiving League, the Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies, had won the NSL Rookie Class trophy, as well.

SDC ZEUS Evolve tried to defend the Florida home turf for Skydive City and only ended up in a battle for 2nd place with guest team Schindler's List.

The 10.0 average of the Bamaboys was also the highest Rookie Class average this year in the U.S.A. and the SSL team finished on the top of the U.S. Rookie Class rankings. Only one team from Italy scored higher than 10.0 in this category at their national championships. Congratulations to the Bamaboys for a perfect 2016 season.
