posted Jul 24th, 2016 - The Sun Path Products NSL News began with the coverage of the July 16 record weekend on July 18th. It was the AAA Class leaderboard that received the first attention, with the national 4-way Open Class teams from France and Great Britain on the top of the rankings.

France and Satori XL are both potential medal contenders of this year's World Championship of Formation Skydiving at the Mondial 2016. France has been the top candidate for the Sun Products NSL News audience ever since the bronze medal poll was offered, while Satori XL is an underdog behind the Qatar Tigers, Evolution from Canada and Russia's Black Cat.

The July 16 weekend brought France and Satori XL together on the overall leaderboard, together with 15 other AAA Class teams. The French national 4-way team competed at the last Coupe de France meet this year, while Satori XL attended the July meet of the United Kingdom Skydiving League in Hibaldstow.

The French teams completed ten rounds in Maubeuge, while the British teams had scheduled only six rounds for the Hibaldstow meet. However, the Sun Path Products NSL News reported on July 21st that UK team Eclipse completed the whole competition draw and the remaining four rounds later and ended up with a new unofficial team record average.

The last four rounds had faster sequences compared to the first six rounds, and only the French and two Midwest Skydiving League teams could enjoy the higher official meet averages. However, Satori XL did the same what Eclipse had done and then provided the Sun Path Products NSL News with the scores for the last four rounds.

The British national team finished the 10-round meet with a new team record average, as well, and offered a comparison with the French top contender for bronze medals.

Satori XL videographer Gary Wainwright also provided the competition video of Round 5 and additional photos of his team in action.

Round 5 was Satori XL's best round of the meet, as the extended leaderboard shows. It was the only round of the 10-round meet where the British national team outscored the French national team. France ended up more than two average points ahead of Satori XL. However, Satori was happy with the recent progression after a 100-jump training camp at Hibaldstow, as point Julia Swallow said: "Things really started to feel good and the speed is coming along."

Satori XL has only five days of training left after the national championships on the August 22 weekend, and it will be a difficult challenge to keep up with France: "Beating the French in one round is good, but we need to do a lot better than that..."
