Did You Know...

... that Satori XL competes with Qatar Tigers and Black Cat at the Shamrock Showdown 2016?

Hibernation after the UK Nationals 2013
posted Feb 28th, 2016 - The Sun Path Products NSL News reported on July 3rd, 2015, that Satori's comeback has become reality. The story explained that the British national 4-way team of many years was on hibernation after the UK Nationals 2013 where the lineup with Julia Foxwell, Aaron Faith, Ian Hodgkinson and John McIver (Dave Head on camera) won with a 20.5 average.

The comeback with a new lineup became reality with 24 training jumps in July last year. Julia Swallow, Ian Hodgkinson and John McIver could welcome Pete Allum as the 4th Satori member, the team name changed to Satori XL, and the new lineup won the UK Nationals 2015 with a 20.7 average.

The story on September 18th then explained that the Satori comeback brings a new contender into the race for the six slots in the final round of the next FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving, the Mondial 2016 at Skydive Chicago.

Satori at the Shamrock Showdown 2008
Satori XL was obviously serious about the comeback, as the British national 4-way team launched the world meet season early at the first international meet of the year, the Wind Games 2016.

The leaderboard of the Wind Games is showing that Satori XL's chances for a slot in the finals are very realistic.

There was only a 7-point difference between Satori XL and the Qatar Tigers, who are expected to finish in the Top 6 at the Mondial 2016, as well.

Satori had missed the second cut at the team's first World Meet in Menzelinsk 2010 and finished 6th at the Mondial Dubai 2012.

Satori XL at the Wind Games 2016
The new Satori XL lineup will follow up on the Wind Games with the first international outdoor competition this year, the Shamrock Showdown 2016. The British national team will face off again with Black Cat and the Qatar Tigers, this time in DeLand.

Satori is familiar with the event site in Florida. Julia Swallow competed with the 2008 lineup (Aaron Faith, Liz Matthews, Katie Woods, Ian Ridpath on camera) at the Shamrock Showdown and came back two years later for the first Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship in DeLand.

It was a good start into the 2012 season for Satori, and it was rewarded with the 6th place at the Mondial Dubai 2012.

New Satori XL member Pete Allum competed with the Teiwaz lineup at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship last year.

He will be significantly closer to the top of the Shamrock leaderboard this year...
