Did You Know...

... that the Wind Games aftermath begins with the combined leaderboard?

Advanced Class medalists at USPA Nationals
posted Jan 25th, 2016 - The aftermath of the Wind Games 2016 begins with the combined leaderboard. This is a feature that the Sun Path Products NSL News has applied whenever there were two different leaderboards with the same competition draw at the same event.

In fact, the "combined" leaderboard is one of the most traditional SKYLEAGUE.COM features, which was introduced as soon as the National Skydiving League was launched in 1998. There have always been several different leaderboards with the same competition draw on the same weekends, when different leagues or hosts had their meets on the same date. After collecting all scores, there would be the combined leaderboard, which has been showing the scores of all teams who competed in the same competition classes with the same competition draw at any given date.

Then there are also the events with different categories, even though the teams apply the same competition draw (FAI 4-way Open Class - FAI 4-way Women Class or USPA 4-way Open Class - USPA 4-way Advanced Class). It is just as interesting to create a combined leaderboard for any of the mentioned meet situations.

Golden Knights: Medal contender in 4-way Open...?
The Wind Games had two different leaderboards for two of the three 4-way events, as the host followed the FAI/IPC format where teams with all-female lineups have their own rankings and receive their own sets of medals.

The combined leaderboard has recently become more interesting, as two all-female teams have moved up the combined 4-way rankings year by year. The Golden Knights are in fact one of the best 4-way teams in the world at the moment, and the French FLY-IN Girls are only inches behind. Both teams would also be in medal contention at a World Championship in the 4-way Open Class.

Neither of the two teams is on the combined leaderboard this time. The Golden Knights were in Spain to compete at the Wind Games and had to withdraw when their whole equipment was stolen after arrival in Barcelona, while the lineup of the French FLY-IN Girls was not complete for the event.

Tied in 2nd place: Katie Woods with Weembi Lille
One all-female team made it to the Top 10 on the combined leaderboard (Wom'in France) and NFTO ended up two points behind Jazz Republic in 11th place.

Three of the French FLY-IN Girls were still in the Top 10. Mixed Parasport had Sophia Pecout and Christine Malnis in the lineup for the meet, and they battled with Thunder ISR and Qatar Tigers for the top spot behind the medal winners.

Their team mate in the national team, Pamela Lissajoux, finished in 8th place with Simetra. Another former team mate, Deep Blue Defender Perrine Sanchez, had her comeback in the same team. She won her first gold medal in 4-way Women in 2012 and is still the reigning champion, together with Sophia Pecout and Christine Malnis.

Satori XL, with Julia Swallow in the Point slot, ended up right between the French 4-way Women world champions. Last and not least, Katie Woods claimed the top spot of all female 4-way competitors on the combined leaderboard. She finished in 2nd place with Weembi Lille...
