Did You Know...

... that the first Indoor Cloud League leaderboard of the year features scores and videos from iFLY Virginia Beach?

Suffolk Sabotage at a VPC 2015 meet
posted Jan 23rd, 2016 - The Wind Games 2016 were completed successfully and without any major surprises. The Sun Path Products NSL News will follow up with the aftermath very soon.

In the meantime, the first Indoor Cloud League scores and videos of the 2016 season have been posted, and there is a new team on the first leaderboard of the year.

John Meyer, former league director of the Virginia Parachute Council, reported from iFLY Virginia Beach that the new wind tunnel "is now an enthusiastic supporter of the Indoor Cloud League".

The management offers a special hourly rate for teams and participants of the Indoor Cloud League competition, and several of the instructors are helping as player coaches. The local 4-way team Suffolk Sabotage, based at Skydive Suffolk, performed three of the January sequences last weekend and plans to become a regular ICL team as a part of the monthly training regimen.

iFLY Virginia Beach opened early in 2015 and quickly became actively involved in all areas of local skydiving. John Meyer said that the staff also supports the IBA Youth League, and they plan to bring the same kind of enthusiasm to the Indoor Cloud League by encouraging local jumpers to get involved in the league, take advantage of the special competition rate and the free coaching, and become better overall skydivers.

Suffolk Sabotage even managed to outscore the Czech team Mimozemky in the RR Class on the first leaderboard of the year. The Hurricane Factory in Prague, Czech Republic, recruited once again the strongest Indoor Cloud League team in 2015 and finished in 1st place for the year.

The first January leaderboard is showing six strong scores from the Czech Republic, where nine different teams competed for the honor to post the first scores and videos of the year for the Hurricane Factory. Four of the nine teams combined for the total of 138 points.

AAA/AA combo in 2016: Flying Circus
The Bad Boys posted once again the scores for the AAA and AA Class sequences, where the national team in 4-way Women, Czech Ladies, tries to get closer to the national team in 4-way Open. Flying Circus was the third Czech team that took on the AA Class sequence,
which could also be drawn for a AAA Class competition.

Jan Klapka said that Flying Circus is also preparing to enter the AAA Class competition very soon. The Rookie Class team of 2014/2015 moved up into the A Class last year and started to learn the AA Class dive pool at the same time before attending three meets in this category. Now they plan to apply a similar AA/AAA combination this year. The Czech Republic will probably have a new AAA/Open Class team very soon.

New is also that the Bad Boys are not the major point-getter for the Hurricane Factory in January so far. The HF Junior Cubs contributed a total of 49 points to the Czech ICL account - three more than the Bad Boys...
