Did You Know...

... that Golden Knights and French FLY-IN Girls had three different meet conditions in 2015?

42-point difference in Prague
posted Dec 28th, 2015 - The aftermath of the exciting Grande Finale of the 2015 season in Dubai is still not over yet. The Sun Path Products NSL News once again goes back to the Clash of Champions 2015 and a video clip that has not been posted yet.

The ongoing battle between the Golden Knights and the French national team in 4-way Women, the French FLY-IN Girls, has been covered frequently and in many ways.

However, the live interview with the French team after the completion of the Clash of Champions is the first one with the new lineup, and it was recorded before the next duel would take place a few days later at the World Air Games 2015.

The battle in 4-way Women is similar to the one in 4-way Open where only NMP PCH Hayabusa and Arizona Airspeed are playing for the gold medals.

French Girls and Golden Knights have been going neck to neck for several years, and it will continue like that at least until the Mondial 2016.

8-point difference at Clash of Champions
Both teams have met each other directly three times this year, and the circumstances were different every time.

The 1st FAI World Indoor Skydiving Championships had both teams in their own 4-way Women category in a 14-foot flying chamber, while the next tunnel meet at Inflight Dubai did not have a separate category for all-female lineups.

Then there was also more flying space (16-foot chamber) at the Clash of Champions.

The all-female teams were back in their own 4-way Women category at the World Air Games, where they exited from Twin Otters and flew their parachutes to different landing areas.

Sophia Pecout and Christine Malnis, reigning world champions in 4-way Women, said in the live interview that they prefer the AAA/Open Class leaderboard, where they can show the boys and the audience better how they keep up with male competitors.

3-point difference at World Air Games
The French FLY-IN Girls with their new lineup had finished 42 points behind the Golden Knights in October and then reduced the indoor difference to eight points at the Clash of Champions. They also won the additional indoor Speed Battle round by four points (54 - 50).

The last of the three live duels this year began a few days after the interview, and the difference was down to three points after the World Air Games, where both teams posted new 10-round team record averages.

Golden Knights and French FLY-IN Girls finish the 2015 season on an even playing level, which promises more great competition between the two teams in 2016.

The French Girls have a sponsorship deal with the FLY-IN wind tunnel and will continue with indoor winter training.

Outdoor training is scheduled for February in Dubai before the next direct outdoor confrontation will take place at the Shamrock Showdown 2016 on the March 19 weekend.
