Did You Know...

... that Monaco Vitalsea completed the team's 47th meet last weekend in France?

Damien Gouriou with Volt'R at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2014
posted Jun 1st, 2015 - The French teams launched their 2015 outdoor competition season last weekend with their first Coupe de France competition in Bouloc. The competition draw was synchronized with the NSL Network, and the French teams applied the AAA and AA categories.

Some of the 4-way teams (Monaco Vitalsea, Invidia, Need4fly) had attended their first meet this year at the Aerokart Challenge 2015 and now posted their first outdoor scores.

The French national teams usually don't compete at the Coupe de France events, however, the members sometimes join other teams to help out as player coaches or just to fill slots.

Isabelle Nore with White and Sea in 2008
This time, there were two current members of the French national teams in the field of AAA Class teams. Damien Gouriou's name recently appeared in the Sun Path Products NSL News update on May 24th. He is a member of the French national team in the 4-way Open Class.

He was selected for the new French Volt'R 4-way lineup in 2013 and is the only member after the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014 who is back in the national 4-way team for France.

Damien Gouriou's team mate in the new national team is Laurence Herve, who is the first French female ompetitor in the French national 4-way Open Class team. They know each other from their 4-way time with French B-Team Perros Dunkerque Maubeuge. Marin Ferre was the team's player coach in 2010 and has the current lineup back under his coaching wings. Laurence Herve was then selected for the Deep Blue Defenders at the end of the 2010 season, while Damien Gouriou continued with other B-Team lineups in 2011 and 2012 before the upgrade into the national 4-way team in 2013.

8-way key player: Manu Sarrazin (top: 3rd from right)
Damien Gouriou had another well known team mate last weekend for FluidZ Bouloc. Isabelle Nore was a member of the French team White and See (Christele Askew, Julie Levy, Emanuelle Nicols, Isabelle Nore) who battled with Aerokart Deep Blue for the French top position in the female 4-way category in 2008. Deep Blue won the qualification and then the gold medals for France in Menzelinsk 2010.

The other current member of the French national Formation Skydiving delegation is multiple 8-way world champion Emmanuel "Manu" Sarrazin. The Sun Path Products NSL News explained on October 21st, 2014, how national coach Jeremie Rollett plans to compete for 8-way gold next year. Manu Sarrazin is a key player in his plans. He competed with Ookpik Pamiers last weekend and had a good battle with Damien Gouriou.

Last not least, Monaco Vitalsea was back with the complete lineup of French 8-way veterans of the late 80s and early 90s who came back in 4-way 11 years ago. Last weekend's competition in Bouloc was the team's 47th meet in the NSL records...
