posted Feb 22nd, 2015 - The "Bedrock Showdown" meet series, with the Paraclete XP Indoor and Outdoor Championships 2015 and then the World Challenge, begins next weekend in Raeford.

The Dubai delegation is smaller this year, however, Eliana Rodriguez, Craig Girard and Alena Chistova are getting their teams ready for the long trip. Two 4-way teams will compete for Skydive Dubai this year, Asaar Gold in 4-way Open and the Dubai Asaar Ladies in 4-way Women.

Eliana Rodriguez told the Sun Path Products NSL News that the Dubai teams had once again personnel changes. Some of them were caused by a new law in the United Arab Emirates that requires all citizens to go through mandatory military services.

Dubai's Formation Skydiving delegation lost five members due to the military duties this year. Eliana Rodriguez said that citizens have the option to either do military service for nine months or civil service for six months.

The team members hope to do the civil service, which would be training to become fire fighters. The five delegation members will not be able to attend the three upcoming meets, and they may miss the Asiania Championships, as well.

Result of the significant impact on the teams' lineups is a downsizing of the travel delegation. Dubai will not have an 8-way team this year. Eliana Rodriguez said that they will travel to the USA with only one 4-way team, Dubai Asaar Gold, while Alena Chistova's Dubai Asaar Ladies have no problems with the military services and will compete in Raeford, DeLand and Bedford, as well. Eliana Rodriguez said that the 8-way team will get back together later this year.

Dubai Asaar Gold has a new lineup. The Sun Path Products NSL News had introduced two new Dubai 4-way competitors during the live coverage of the 5th Dubai International Parachuting Championship with thre story on 1 December 2014.

Ahmed Sharif and Ahmed Abdulla Hashim followed the competition action with great interest and were eager to join the action as soon as possible. They did not have to wait for too long.

Abdulla AlShammar is the 3rd member of the current Asaar Gold lineup, an original member of the 2011 delegation. He had joined the 8-way lineup at the 5th DIPC 2014 and is now back in 4-way, as well. Craig Girard completes the lineup as the player coach, and Iurii Railean is filming the team. Eliana Rodriguez is the alternate.
