... that NMP-PCH Hayabusa expect a 28-average winning level in 2016?

Preparations for the 43-anniversary jump
posted Dec 6th, 2014 - The award ceremony of the 5th Dubai International Parachuting Championship took place on Friday evening and concluded this year's event.

The actual competition was completed on Thursday, and other Formation Skydiving events were scheduled for Friday. Craig Girard organized the next anniversary jump, as the DIPC always coincides with the celebrations for Dubai's birthday, the 43rd this year.

A selected group of Formation Skydiving celebrities in Dubai formed a 43 in freefall, and the Sun Path Products NSL News will follow up soon with the video footage. Craig Girard also organized a 50-way friendship jump of all six 8-way teams later on Friday. All NMP-PCH Hayabusa members helped to build the 43 before meeting for the latest NSL Talk.

21.3 at the ESL Championship 2012
The new Hayabusa lineup did not win the 5th DIPC 2014. However, the team was more than happy with the performance last week. It almost went too well for a while and better than even the team might have expected.

The Belgian 4-way world champions were tied with Evolution through the first four rounds, and only the meltdown in Round 5 allowed the Canadian bronze medalists of Prostejov to pull away and win the meet easily. Hayabusa recovered well and lost only three more points in the remaining five rounds.

The videos of the competition jumps include Round 5.

24.1 at the 5th DIPC 2014
The new NSL Talk was the first time that former alternate Jeroen "Bob" Nollet provided his own feedback for the audience. He explained that it was easier for him to step in this time. He said that he had no training at all with the team when he competed at the ESL Championship 2012 where Hayabusa posted a 21.3 average. He was also in Roy Janssen's tail slot over two years ago.

NMP-PCH Hayabusa began training with him soon after it became clear that Roy Janssen would leave the team. He said that he was well prepared in Dubai.

It was still a very short time frame between the end of the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014 and the 5th DIPC 2014, and the 26.4 winning average in Prostejov was a number that seemed very far away. It is not any longer, as Hayabusa's new lineup started the new 2-year cycle with a 24.1 average. It is still a long way to the Mondial 2016 since Hayabusa expects a 28-average level for the winner in Ottawa...
