posted Jun 12th, 2013 - The different numbers of rounds last weekend brought once again little changes to the overall leaderboard. It is actually surprising how small the changes on the overall leaderboard were between the first rounds of a meet and the outcome after ten rounds.

It was a major difference last weekend, as the teams in Germany completed ten rounds, while the second meet of the United Kingdom Skydiving League 2013 was reduced to three rounds. 22 teams competed combined in AAA - AA - A Class, and there was only one change in the AAA Class.

The 4way veterans of Paranodon Senior had a strong start into the competition and were in 5th place after Round 3, not too far away from the 3rd place. The Paranodon average dropped in the later rounds when it was time for the slower sequences, which were not completed in the United Kingdom.

Paranodon Senior was also ahead of the direct opponent from Switzerland, Peanuts, after Round 3 on their home turf in Illertissen. Peanuts turned the 2-point deficit into a 3-point lead between Round 5 and Round 7 and eventually carried a 1-point lead over the finish line.

Other than that, last weekend was fully under UK control. Teams from the United Kingdom took the 1st places in all four categories, even though the British Rookie Class teams had no foreign competition this time. It was even a UK sweep of the first three places in the AAA Class and also in the A Class.

Taranis from Ireland and Pacmen from Germany avoided another UK sweep in the AA Class, where Anti Gravity Ninja Swans claimed or tied the highscores for each of the three rounds.

Bodyflight Isis was on the very top of the whole overall leaderboard last weekend and showed once again the strength of the female 4way competitors in the United Kingdom.

The NSL News had introduced the new team on 26 January 2013 and followed up on 11 April 2013 with the specific topic of female UK competitors. Bodyflight Isis plans to earn the British female team nomination for the World Championship of Formation Skydiving in 2014 at this year's national championships.

Not much seems to be in the way, even if other strong British female competitors joined for any pickup teams for the event. Bodyflight Isis is on the way with a 2-year plan that is suppoed to end up on the podium at the World Meet 2014 in Prostejov.

Bodyflight Isis has completed six outdoor competition rounds in this year's two meets so far, which combine for a 16.0 average for ten of the 22 blocks. The 16.0 average is probably a realistic benchmark at this point in time.

The best female lineup at the UK Nationals 2014 (Pink Panthers) posted a 14.7 average. The national team for the Mondial 2012, Bodyflight Langar, finished with a 13.4 average and then with a 15.3 average in Dubai, which won the 4th place in the female 4way category.

The podium slots in Dubai started with a 17.8 average in 3rd place for Polaris. It would be no big surprise if Bodyflight Isis flew to this scoring level already at the UK Nationals 2013. Gold (France - 20.7) and silver (USA - 20.1) required significantly higher numbers. However, Isis team captain Sarah Cannon has been there before (Bodyflight Storm - 2008) and knows how to get a team to the gold medal position...
