Did You Know...

... that Dallas Khaos XP has doubled into Khaos and Khobalt?

Original Dallas Khaos XP lineup in 2010
posted Feb 18th, 2013 - The AA Class leaderboard of the Valentine's Meet 2013 had a team of the Texas Skydiving League in 3rd place. The team name was Dallas Khaos XP when the information came in from Skydive Arizona. The first published leaderboard with the NSL News story on 10 February 2013 shows the flawed information.

It was a surprise for the NSL News to see Dallas Khaos XP compete in the AA Class competition at the Valentine's Meet. The team from Skydive Dallas in Texas had left this category behind after winning USPA's silver medals in the AA/Intermediate Class of 2011. The NSL News audience may remember the dramatic finish and a jump-off with T-Minus1 for the gold medals.

The New England team won, and Dallas Khaos XP still moved up into the AAA Class competition in 2012, even though the Texas team would have been eligible for another run at USPA gold medals.

USPA silver medals in 2011: Dallas Khaos XP
Dallas Khaos XP came back with the same lineup as in 2011 (David Hickey, Eric Soden, Pete Waldroop, Matt Green), including team videographer Thad Parker, and had a great regular season on the same scoring level as in the AA Class of 2011.

In fact, a Super Sequence at the Dallas Super Cup 2012 boosted the Khaos meet average up to 15.0 which would become the scoring level of the Advanced Class medal rankings at the USPA Nationals 2012.

Khaos ended up with a 12.6 average at the USPA Nationals 2012, which still beat the team's own AA Class average a year ago. However, it was very unlikely that the same team would drop down into the AA Class competition of 2013, as the Valentine's Meet leaderboard first showed.

AAA Class in 2012: Dallas Khaos XP
The confusion was caused by great news from Texas, as Dallas Khaos has extended the team project. There are two different lineups this year, and one of them competes in the AA Class under Dallas Khaos Khobalt. This was the Dallas team at the Valentine's Meet.

The Khaos 2013 lineup has been split in two halves. Dallas Khaos XP Black continues in the AAA Class, while Dallas Khaos Khobalt begins in the AA Class. Khobalt's Center Inside Matt Greene, USPA silver medalist of 2011 and Khaos member of 2012, explained that the new lineups coincide with the Khaos mission to promote 4way Formation Skydiving competition.

He explained that his Khobalt team mates Charles Wilkins, Zach Lewis and Mike Hotchkiss came from AA Class team Dallas Storm, while he and David Hickey are both original Khaos members. Dallas Khaos Black has Chuck Desoastoa of former AA Class team Dallas Pulse and former T-Minus1 member Jeff Atherton in the lineup, together Pete Waldroop, Eric Soden and Thad Parker (Camera) of last year's Khaos lineup. Jeff Atherton had his farewell meet with three T-Minus1 members at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2013 and won the AA Class competition with a 17.2 average under Charly Yankee.
