Did You Know...

... that Satori's bad luck caused a Tail chain reaction for the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship?

New Evolution prepares for a training jump
posted Mar 15th, 2012 - Wednesday was very busy in DeLand, as it was the last more serious training day for the teams who arrived earlier for a camp before the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012. Most of those teams will take it easier on Thursday or take a day off.

Other teams arrived later on Wednesday and will have a light warmup day on Thursday, including Arizona Airspeed and Aerodyne Aerokart. The Russian Sky Panthers Barkli have scheduled two full training days before the 8way competition begins on Saturday morning, while the Golden Knights will have a light Thursday. Both 8way teams compete only in their main event.

CamScore's Jo Bell and Andy Mansfield arrived on Wednesday and will set up their system on Thursday, and the judges (Eric Heinsheimer, Judy Celaya, Cherie Schuch) all arrive today. The competition draw is scheduled for 7 PM at the Clarion Hotel where Jerry Bird will welcome and introduce the teams at the traditional reception.

Help for Satori: XL member Steve Hamilton
The NSL Reality TV camera captured a high-profile pickup team preparing for a training jump. Katie Woods, Martin Lemay, Shannon Pilcher and Nick Grillet join forces for a good 4way time at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012. There is a realistic chance that Martin's brother Vincent Lemay will drop this team with his brother from the Twin Otter, as he is flying the jump planes in DeLand.

Satori has also arrived in DeLand coming from the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, the lineup is not complete, as Aaron Faith has problems with his visa. The team was not prepared for such a problem and could not even cancel the trip at this point in time. Luckily, there was help. XL members are always ready to step in, and Steve Hamilton agreed to fill the Satori slot.

This had another implication though. Steve Hamilton was supposed to compete with the DeLand Norgies where Tail Carl-Erik Tuv could not make the trip. There was a remedy for this situation, too. Solly Williams is now with the DeLand Norgies, and Steve Hamilton has only two jobs, coaching Polaris and jumping with Satori. Solly Williams is in the same situation, as he is coaching Bodyflight Voluntas.
