Did You Know...

... that the Fun Flag is flying in the rain?

Fun Flag flies over Maubeuge
posted Aug 10th, 2008 - Meet Direcor Patrice Girardin just announced at the World Meet 2008 in Maubeuge that the 4-way teams are on stand-by. It is raining at the moment. However, he said that the forecast promises better weather later this morning.

The best view this morning at the competition site in Maubeuge is the Fun Flag, which is flying high on top of the very tall crane for yesterday's bunjee jumps. The French Deep Blue members found a great place to let it fly and keep control over it at the same time. Maybe for a while...

The NSL News coverage of the FAI World Meet 2008 is brought to you with the help of:
Deep Blue found a good spot
The rainy morning allows time for the NSL News to go back to yesterday's events. NSL News reporter Nathan Polis took his camera and observed the teams after they received the competition draw. By the way: there are two different competition draws. The 4-way and 8-way competition both have their own letters and numbers. They are already correctly assigned to each round on top of each scoring table.

The work of the teams to prepare for the first round and the whole competition can be viewed by clicking here. Nathan Polis is also working on a new clip, which will feature the opening ceremony downtown Maubeuge.

Tornado damage and opening ceremony
It was once again very impressive how the French meet management included the general public in the event. Thousands of spectators enjoyed the parade of the teams through downtown. An interesting aspect of the opening ceremony was the fact that it took place where the tornado ripped through the town a week ago. The upcoming video of the opening ceremony will show more.

The NSL News will also use the rainy time to find some videos of yesterday's training jumps and possibly a new victim for the next NSL-TV interview. The best of the best in the skydiving world are in Maubeuge right now, and there are endless opportunities for interesting stories. Stay tuned.
