News Article Did you know that Tuesday featured double-duty practice at Skydive Arizona?
posted: Oct 18th, 2022 The three top contenders for the FAI silver medals in 4-way Open continued with their training on Tuesday, three days before Round 1 of the FAI Outdoor World Meet 2022. All four teams in 4-way Women were also in action at the same time. Three 4-way Women competitors (Jeana Billings, Michelle Karamon, Linda Koeb) are the only participants at the outdoor world meet who take on double-duties in 4-way and 8-way this time. Their teams had to organize their training in a way that allows them to warm up in both events and simulates the meet situation realistically. It is a procedure and a format... (more)
News Article Did you know that NMP PCH HayaBusa have never competed in Eloy yet?
posted: Oct 18th, 2022 The NSL News has transitioned to Skydive Arizona for the live coverage of the FAI Outdoor World Meet 2022, and the first day in Eloy was already loaded with action. The final training days before Round 1 on Friday morning are in full swing. The coming days before the start of the competition offer opportunities for the NSL News to introduce some of the teams who have been on the preview leaderboards. Arizona Airspeed's 4-way Open opponents from France, Belgium and Qatar were in training on Tuesday, while the home team did not make their way to the dropzone. Team captain Niklas Hemlin could... News Article Did you know that Denmark is back on the FAI World Championship leaderboard?
posted: Oct 17th, 2022 Denmark's national team in 4-way Open for the upcoming FAI Outdoor World Meet 2022 was probably the last team posting most recent scores before traveling to Skydive Arizona. It was the Danish national indoor championship where Sequenz won the AAA Class competition. The national indoor championships in Denmark have been held shortly after the end of the outdoor season in the past years, while most other countries schedule their championships closer to the end of the indoor season, which usually conclude with FAI's indoor world meets or world cups. Sequenz joined the other Danish 4-way teams... (more)
News Article Did you know that four of the Tanay 4-way Open teams are back with the same lineups?
posted: Oct 16th, 2022 Seven of the nine countries who had sent their national 4-way Open Class teams to the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 will be back this week for the next outdoor world meet. Only Kazakhstan and Indonesia will not be represented again in Eloy. Six of the returning seven countries have the same national teams competing a year later, and four of them have registered the same lineups (Qatar Tigers, Papea Masculino, Out Of The Blue, Adventure Flyers). The United States have a completely different national team after the USPA Nationals 2021, and NMP PCH HayaBusa have a lineup with a new team member (Neal Willems). The... (more)
News Article Did you know that 4-way Open keeps going strongly at the FAI Outdoor World Meet?
posted: Oct 15th, 2022 The NSL News reported in earlier previews of the FAI Outdoor World Meet 2022 that two of the three events in Formation Skydiving competition, 8-way Open and 4-way Women, are matching the lowest number of participating countries in the history of the sport. The lowest point was after the pandemic at the FAI Tanay Mondial, where a total of 23 countries sent teams to compete in the four Formation Skydiving events (4-way Open, 4-way Women, 4-way VFS, 8-way). The total of 35 teams this year is the lowest number since the inclusion of 4-way VFS in 2010. There is also very good news though, as 4-way... (more)
News Article Did you know that one Air Force 4-way member won silver 20 years ago at USPA Nationals?
posted: Oct 14th, 2022 The annual International Skydiving Museum's Hall of Fame Celebration that the NSL News covered two days ago was also an opportunity for all generations of skydivers from across the planet to meet and greet, this time at Skydive DeLand and at the Hilton Daytona Beach Ocean Resort. Some of the visitors just wanted to experience the induction of their friends and role models, the celebrities in the sport, in the Hall Of Fame. Emily Bombardi and Eric Daniel, two names that have appeared increasingly in the recent NSL News, came to Florida for that reason, and it offered the NSL News at the same... (more)
