News Article Did you know that Savolo won their next South African 4-way championship title?
posted: May 17th, 2023 The Formation Skydiving competition world was recently zooming in on the Hurricane Factory Tatralandia in Slovakia for the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023. At the same time, or at least very close to the event, outdoor events took place, as well. It is especially difficult for teams in the southeastern hemisphere to adapt to the worldwide competition schedule that is dominated by North America and Europe. It may have caught the attention of only a few people in the sport that the field of 4-way teams at the indoor world championship did not include national teams from Australia, New Zealand... (more)
News Article Did you know that Bronteroc and Flyspot Sky4Four met for the first time in Slovakia?
posted: May 16th, 2023 The NSL News covered the tightest part of the 4-way Open Class leaderboard at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023 with the update on May 3rd. Purple Maze from the northest part of Europe (Finland) and Papea from the most southern Europe (Spain) ended up tied in 9th place and together closed the door to the Top 10 positions for other potential contenders. Papea were expected to finish in the Top 10, while Purple Maze surprised and upset a few teams who probably had the same finishing position as a target. The 1-point battle between Echochamber Oceanside (Sweden) and FLY X (Italy) was a... (more)
News Article Did you know that Texas and Northern California completed their first 2023 outdoor events?
posted: May 15th, 2023 The Texas Skydiving League had a slow start into the 2023 season. League director Scott Latinis reported from Texas that four teams showed up on Saturday, one in the AA Class, three in the Rookie Class. He said that strong winds kept them on the ground on the first weekend day. The AA Class team and two of the three Rookie Class teams came back on Sunday, even though AA Class team The Sufficients were now missing one of the team members. Scott Latinis himself was there to help out: "They scraped the bottom of the barrel for a replacement and found me..." He said that later the team's videographer... (more)
News Article Did you know that Sky4Four's Arkadiusz Wlodarczyk had two 1-point battles within a month?
posted: May 14th, 2023 Some of the teams who represented their countries at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023 did not have much time until they performed the next Round 1 at an indoor event, after the previous ten rounds at the Flyspot Liga. They seem to enjoy 4-way competition and cannot get enough of it. Two of the teams in Slovakia had a preview shortly before Round 1 at the Hurricane Factory Tatralandia. Magic 4 from Lithuania and Poland's national team Flyspot Sky4Four both performed their previous ten rounds at the Flyspot Liga's April meet. Lithuania's national team was back in action with the same... (more)
News Article Did you know that Sophia Pecout and Christine Malnis won their 8th gold medals in Slovakia?
posted: May 12th, 2023 There is another team that will not continue after the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023, at least not with the same lineup. It was the team with the shortest time spent together before the competition, which was still enough to win the 4-way Women competition. French national coach Mathieu Bernier had worked silently on his plan to send a very strong 4-way Women team to Slovakia, and he had to convince two team members to join the French national lineup one more time. Sophia Pecout and Christine Malnis are two of the most experienced and talented 4-way competitors in the world, who had no... (more)
News Article Did you know that HF Flying Circus take a break after eight years with the same lineup?
posted: May 10th, 2023 A fairy tale 4-way story came to an end at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023, or at least to an interruption. HF Flying Circus, the Czech national 4-way indoor and outdoor team, knew already before traveling to Slovakia that the event would mean the farewell to 4-way training and competition with the lineup of the past eight years. It's the second recent loss of a very popular team. Chimera, the British national team in 4-way Open of the past years, announced this January that they would not continue as a 4-way team. HF Flying Circus announced the team's retirement after the conclusion... (more)
