posted: Mar 11th, 2006 The AAA/Open Class competition at the SSL Valentine's Meet 2006 lost one team to a scheduling confusion. Elsinore Gravity had planned to compete in Eloy and realized too late that the meet date was on a different weekend than originally planned. Team member Melanie Curtis informed the NSL News about the mishap and was sad that her team missed the competition. However, she provided the NSL News with a team update. posted: Feb 27th, 2006 The last NSL News story that covered the AAA/Open Class competition of the SSL Valentine's Meet 2006 had Golden Knights member Brian "BK" Kause providing feedback of his own team and his thoughts after the competition in Eloy on February 21. The NSL News story on February 22 introduced the A Class team "Evas Revenge". The NSL News now returns to the AAA/Open Class competition with a closer look at the teams that finished behind the three top scorers, Airspeed Odyssey, Airspeed Velocity and Team Fastrax. News Article Did you know that Airspeed Velocity won the second half of the meet?
posted: Feb 19th, 2006 The 4-way competition at the 2006 season opener in Eloy began with a warm-up jump for all teams. The sequence of round one (A-M-9-L) was a real tunnel sequence and offered the opportunity to create a cushion for a high meet average. The following four rounds slowed down the pace before round six helped the average to go up again. The three top teams, Airspeed Odyssey, Airspeed Velocity and Team Fastrax, finished the meet at about the scoring level where they expected themselves after these six rounds. The Airspeed line-ups had not trained much 4-way due to the 8-way commitment this year. (more)

posted: Feb 15th, 2006 The 2006 season opener with the SSL Valentine's Meet at Skydive Arizona in Eloy is just around the corner, and the NSL News has already covered the event with two previews. The direct link to the event pages has been set on the front page, and the NSL News is ready to move the temporary office to the west coast. The competition draw will be posted Friday evening, as it has become normal procedure throughout the 2005 season. The actual event coverage will begin Saturday morning with scores, stories, pictures and hopefully a big load of new meet videos for the NSL-TV. (more)

posted: Feb 11th, 2006 The 2006 season opener of 4-way competition is only one week away. The Valentine's Meet at Skydive Arizona has been the first competition of the new season for many years, even before the Southwest Skydiving League was founded. However, in the last years, SSL management and Skydive Arizona have worked together, and the competition in Eloy has become a part of the SSL schedule every year. The Valentine's Meet has always consisted of 4-way and 8-way competition. The event begins with six rounds of 4-way on Saturday, the 8-way competition follows on Sunday. posted: Feb 2nd, 2006 The NSL News reported on September 17, 2005, (did you know) "...that Perris Fury is looking for a future world champion?" The team from Perris Valley Skydiving began early last year to look for a committed player to replace the player coaches Dan BC and Mark Kirkby in the inside center position. Team speaker Christy Frikken explained by then that Perris Fury had big plans for the 2006 season and the near future: "In 2006 we want to take it to the next level.
