News Article Did you know that many 4-way and 8-way competitors supported Germany's 200-way in Eloy?
posted: Nov 19th, 2008 There was recently another big-way event at Skydive Arizona with a lot of overlapping between recreational skydivers and Formation Skydiving competitors. Three members of the former German national 4-way team Daedalus (Dieter Kirsch, Christoph Aarns, Pitt Weber), who have successfully been running skydiving centers in Germany (Hoexter, Eisenach), organized a new record attempt for the largest national freefall formation. 200 German skydivers gathered last week in Eloy and completed the 200-way formation with the 13th jump from 18,000 feet. This record counts officially as the new German record... (more)

posted: Oct 31st, 2008 Last not least, the captured videos of the 4-way Intermediate Class competition at the USPA Nationals 2008 have been added to the special NSL-TV page. 14 competition jumps can be reviewed, and they include once again several rounds of the medal winners in this category. Team R4 from Northern California (Julius Frank, Deanna Frank, Jon Martens, Rob Radez and Jason Imamura on camera) won with a 13.1 average, seven points ahead of the Air Force team Encore. R4 had a slow start and lost Rounds 1, 3 and 4. However, the west coast team had already captured the gold medal position in Round 2 and... (more)

posted: Oct 28th, 2008 All captured videos of the 4-way Open Class competition at the USPA Nationals 2008 are now available on NSL-TV. The missing videos have been added to the event's special NSL-TV page. The available videos of last week's competition in Eloy include two jumps of the US national 4-way team in the female category, Fastrax Blue. The 2008 season was a very turbulent time for Becky Brocato, Erin Murphy and Brianne Thompson and included the complete emotional spectrum between sadness and joy. The NSL News covered the team on its way from qualification as the national female lineup at the USPA Nationals... (more)
News Article Did you know that the 4-way winners were already honored on Tuesday evening?
posted: Oct 25th, 2008 Tonight is the time when the official event banquet of the USPA Nationals 2008 will take place at Skydive Arizona in Eloy. The award ceremonies for the specific events were already held the same evening when each competition was concluded. The procedure was different the last time when USPA Nationals were hosted by Skydive Arizona in 2006. The award ceremonies for all events were also held on Saturday, as a part of the official event banquet. The winning teams of the early events had to wait the whole week to receive their medals. This year's event management adjusted the schedule and handed... (more)

The NSL News took a closer look at the participation records at USPA Nationals for the time period between 1997 and 2008. The results are interesting and surely reveal a declining attendance in 4-way, especially in the Advanced and Intermediate Class. (more)
News Article Did you know that the French 8-way team is probably the best one Tim Wagner has ever seen?
posted: Oct 23rd, 2008 Arizona Airspeed is the old and new USPA 8-way champion, and the five Airspeed Odyssey members (Eliana Rodriguez, Craig Girard, Mark Kirkby, Andy Delk, Steve Nowak) repeated last year's double gold feature. Airspeed's 18.3 average was more than enough to leave USA 8 far behind. The two recent personnel changes hurt the US national team of 2008 and at the World Meet 2008 more than expected and caused the team's average of 20.0 in August to drop by more than three points. It will be interesting to see what Arizona Airspeed will decide to do with the 8-way title this year. The French 8-way team... (more)
