Did you know that Thunder is also the leader in meet attendance? posted: Dec 27th, 2012 It has been an overwhelming response by the NSL News audience so far, and the poll has been well attended. The current results are very much representative, and Thunder is the main favorite for the unofficial title of the world's best amateur team in 2012. The poll is still open and will remain so until the turn of the year.
It seems as if the new unofficial amateur world champion for the first time will be a team that did not compete at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving and was only a guest team at the World Cup. It does not mean at all that Thunder did not compete enough. In fact,... (more)
Did you know that SportLoto has joined the race for the unofficial world amateur title? posted: Dec 26th, 2012 A fourth team has been added to the candidates for the world's best amateur team in 2012, and the NSL News audience has the option to vote again if desired. SportLoto from Russia surely competed on the same scoring and performance level as the other three teams, as the NSL News story on 17 September 2012 clearly pointed out.
The current poll was sparked by the results at the Mondial Dubai 2012, as the NSL News usually checks on this topic after the main IPC event each year, either the World Cup or the World Championship of Formation Skydiving.
However, the situation has been different this... (more)
Did you know that the NSL News audience can vote for the world's best amateur team of 2012? posted: Dec 25th, 2012 It is time to give a very special part of the Mondial Dubai 2012 leaderboard the deserved attention that the winner of the unofficial Scandinavian Championship, Bardagi, lately received.
This special part of the leaderboard is the "grey area" between the professional top performers in the sport and the recreational teams and competitors who use their weekends, holidays, vacations and personal resources to train as much as possible.
The end of the year is the right time to determine the unofficial amateur world champion of 2012.
This is not an easy task, and the NSL News audience will have... (more)
Did you know that the Blovemberfest 2012 substituted for the Blocktoberfest? posted: Dec 24th, 2012 the Blovemberfest 2012 substituted for the Blocktoberfest
The NSL News interrupts the usual daily updates with another NSL Reality TV clip, which was recorded live but is not perfectly up-to-date at this point in time. It still fits to the occasion of a holiday as it features the annual celebration of the famous Blocktoberfest.
The Blocktoberfest takes place at the NSL/Blue Skies Mag Plaza in DeLand and was created a few years ago by the owners and managers of the small business operations that are located next doors to each other at 1665 Lexington Avenue.
It was not really the annual... (more)
Did you know that Sweden's team Bardagi has many reasons to celebrate? posted: Dec 23rd, 2012 The NSL News goes back to one of the topics of the past years, the unofficial Scandinavian championship at the world meets.
The special, exclusively Scandinavian, leaderboard shows only the teams from the northern countries of Europe who have been a consistent and reliable, often very competitive part at the World Championships of Formation Skydiving.
The Scandinavian countries with very small but passionate skydiving populations have even produced several medal winners in the past two decades.
Denmark won 4way Open Class bronze medals in 1993 and 1995 and Norway in 1999, 2001 and 2003.

Did you know that 4way meets seem to have turned into "speed fests"? posted: Dec 22nd, 2012 The NSL News is still not done yet with the Mondial Dubai 2012, even not after the Grande Finale with Usher and Katy Perry. In fact, there are still many topics that deserve to be covered, and the winter break will hopefully bring enough time to catch up with most of the missing aftermath.
The last NSL Reality TV clip has now been uploaded, and it features another round of the Coaches Corner. The NSL News invited Gary Smith and Solly Williams to discuss the Formation Skydiving competition rules, specifically the ones related to penalties and point deductions.
