The participants of the ICL team in South Florida have not missed any opportunity yet to learn more about 4-way Formation Skydiving competition by either using the three Rookie Class sequences (R - RR - RRR) as an introduction to the sport, or the more technical sequences (A - AA - AAA) as a competition training opportunity for the more dedicated teams. Did you know that the Golden Knights will challenge Arizona Airspeed at the Shamrock Showdown 2025? posted: Nov 9th, 2024 The Golden Knights used to be frequent visitors at Skydive DeLand in Florida for the Shamrock Showdown. They competed at the event every other year between 2003 and 2010. The Shamrock Showdown has mainly been a 4-way competition, only with an extension to 8-way whenever there was interest and secured participation.
The focus of the U.S. Army delegation shifted from 4-way back to 8-way in 2009, and the Shamrock Showdown 2010 had two Golden Knights 4-way teams on the leaderboard due to the 8-way extension that year. The Golden Knights 8-way team was interested in getting competition practice for... (more)
Did you know that Fast and Clean became a necessary combination in 2005? posted: Nov 8th, 2024 One of the most significant rule changes in the history of Formation Skydiving competition has been mentioned in NSL News updates and NSL Live Talk many times and has not received enough attention, even though it was and still is the reason for controversial discussion of the topic.

France, United States and Norway kept their hands on the FAI medals between 1999 and 2003, while the ranking order changed in the three events.
Eventually it happened in 2016 and 2018 when the national 4-way Open Class teams from Belgium, United States and France finished in exactly the same order. However, this unusual and rare continuity was over again after Australia 2018 when... (more)
