Did you know that the Northern Plains Skydiving League launched its fourth season successfully? posted: May 20th, 2004 After a week of overcast and rain in the Northern Plains, the skies opened up clear and cool on Friday (May 14) to start a pre-meet coaching camp at Skydive Iowa in Brooklyn, IA. Skydive Iowa put on a first class meet and also boasted various DZ improvements such as the new bunkhouses which were more like little apartments than a typical DZ bunkhouse.Robert Chromy was on hand as our traveling coach to assist the four teams with help in exits, basic body position, dive engineering and planning. Did you know that DeLand Majik member Joey Jones visited the NSL office for an interview? posted: May 18th, 2004 NSL News: Joey, Majik scored a 25.5 average this weekend, was there room for more? Joey Jones: There is always room for more; we left a few points on the table scraps. NSL News: We all know that it was only a fast 6-round draw. Did you finish the draw later? Joey Jones: No, we trained on Sunday on some exits that we needed to polish up. We have been working on second-point block break times. After the meet and the jumps on Sunday, four of our jumps were personal best times. We were happy to come from a great meet and still have enough focus to put up personal best times in training the next day.... (more)
Did you know that the new round of NSL-TV features round eight of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2004? posted: May 18th, 2004 The new round of NSL-TV features once again teams competing at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2004. The coverage includes DeLand Majik and Italy's Sinapsi PD. Yesterday, the NSL audience was offered the opportunity to compare France Maubeuge and the U.S. national team indirectly with each other while doing their random work. The ten rounds of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2004 had DeLand Majik and Sinapsi PD competing on site directly with each other. France Maubeuge, DeLand Majik and Sinapsi PD are expected to be the only gold medal contenders at this year's IPC Anton Malevsky Memorial World Cup and at... (more)
Did you know that you can now directly compare DeLand Majik's 41 and France Maubeuge's 42? posted: May 17th, 2004 DeLand Majik seems to be well prepared for the first showdown with the French 4-way world champion from Maubeuge at the IPC Anton Malevsky Memorial World Cup 2004. The competition draw for last weekend's events at several locations in the USA and Europe, provided by the Dutch Handicap Cup, was surely on the faster side. Majik's 25.5 meet average was also posted after six rounds, and the remaining four rounds would have lowered this average. However, fact is that the U.S. national team did not even have any round where the score was lower than 20 points. (more)
Did you know that the weather front never moved further and through Indiana last weekend? posted: May 17th, 2004 Good news and bad news arrived at the NSL headquarters at the same time. New scores from the Dutch Handicap Cup could be added to last weekend's scoring overview, the NSL-TV prepares the showing of DeLand Majik's 41-point jump, and Majik member Joey Jones visited the NSL office this morning for an interview.
