Did you know that the interview with Bodyflight Storm includes a Fun Flag showing? posted: Aug 15th, 2008 It came as it had to be expected: it is a beautiful Friday morning with clear skies and lots of sunshine. One more day of competition, before or after the dedicated five days, would have completed the meet. That's how it goes, and the IPC committee will take a closer look at the rules for the event duration.
Thursday was a great day of celebration though. The airshow and award ceremony at the dropzone attracted once again a large crowd of spectators. It was a wonderful presentation of the sport to the general public. The TV and print media participated very well in the event and covered it consistently.... (more)
Did you know that the 4-way Open Class teams struggled with Round 8? posted: Aug 14th, 2008 It was actually quite amazing how difficult Round 8 turned out to be. Norway Arcteryx ended up with a 14-pointer, the team's lowest score of the meet.
France Maubeuge was the only team without serious problems and had the highscore of 18 points. It was hard to imagine that Airspeed Odyssey could still got in trouble. However, after two deductions the US team saved a 1-point victory over the finish line.

Did you know that the Finals begin with the most interesting event? posted: Aug 14th, 2008 It is a cold morning in Maubeuge, but the skies are clear, and there is not much wind at all. Did you know that the Fun Flag got ripped again today? posted: Aug 13th, 2008 Back to happier events than rules and freeze frames and bad weather - if you can say so...
The weather was still not cooperating very well or not at all today. Meet Director Patrice Girardin has already announced that he will soon declare the next round as the semifinals. This means that only the top ten teams would make Round 7. It is also possible that Round 7 could become the final round with only six teams if nothing changes.
The weather forecast for Thursday is much better. However, the last take-off is scheduled for 11:00 am at the latest. The rules say that the host has a maximum of... (more)

The 8-way teams have already landed, and the judges are in the middle of their work. Germany will be up soon, with the whole family being... (more)

The judges are currently working on the semifinals in the 4-way Open Class.
