Did you know that the NSL News completes the coverage of the recent rule book updates? posted: Apr 15th, 2004 The NSL News can now complete the coverage of USPA's rule changes for the 2004 season. The last NSL News update of April 1st mentioned that there was still one open issue on the 4-way agenda that required additional information. USPA Competition Committee member Danny Page now responded to the NSL inquiry and clarified a section of the Minutes of the last BOD meeting that was in question. Subject of the discussion was the penalty situation that used to cause the "double bust". (more)
Did you know that the MASL Karp Cup 2004 offers a total of $2,000 for prize money? posted: Apr 14th, 2004 The MidAtlantic Skydiving League and Skydive Cross Keys are joining forces to create a larger East Coast 4-way event similar to the Shamrock Showdown of the Florida Skydiving League in DeLand and the Valentine's Meet of the Southwest Skydiving League in Eloy. The meet management at Cross Keys announced that the competition is open to all 4-way teams and competitors and promises to be on a world class level. The Karp Cup has become an annual 4-way event to honor the legacy of Seth Karp, a former member of MASL team Jetstream. $1000 in prize money have been donated by Karp’s father, Martin Karp,... (more)
Did you know that the new NSL-TV features the next round of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2004? posted: Apr 13th, 2004 The NSL-TV now continues with the coverage of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2004. Round three is currently featured, which was one of the fastest sequences of the competition (H-B-M-4). It was also the second time in the first three rounds that Italy's Sinapsi PD won the highest score for a round over DeLand Majik. Majik lost round one by one point due to a penalty, won round two by three points with an Italian penalty and gave away round three by one point. Neither Majik nor Sinapsi PD had any deductions in this round. It was a clean and true affair and one of the best rounds for the Italian team... (more)
Did you know that France Maubeuge will compete with DeLand Majik and Sinapsi PD in Russia? posted: Apr 12th, 2004 The Malevsky Memorial World Cup 2004 promises more excitement month by month and with each update the NSL News receives from Russia. After covering most of the logistics, this update will focus on the teams that have already signed up for the event. The Russian host had great news for the NSL audience. The current and defending world champion, France Maubeuge, will compete in Russia. Due to the dismal weather forecast, many teams never showed. To everyone's surprise the weather wasn't nearly as bad as expected. On Saturday, we found ourselves with three teams, all in the AA class. They were: 301, Perris-Ites - Bill Morrison, Debbie Parisi, Laurie Ross, Wayne Clarke and Terry Weatherford. 302, Elsinore Equinox - Kevin Thompson, Rob Cope, Charles Wynn, Don Mullenix and Todd Sutherland. 303, Divewerkz - Murel Addison, Annie Peterson, Blane Boynton, Simon Catherine and Kelly Green. Did you know that Southwest Skydiving League extends special thanks to the teams participating in meet 2? posted: Apr 4th, 2004 SSL extends special thanks to the teams participating in this meet. There were several examples of tenacity and sportsmanship exhibited at SSL Meet #2 which are to be commended including hanging out through squirrely weather, and agreeing on a re-jump. Most of the players at this meet complimented the professionalism and hospitality of the staff at Skydive Arizona.
