News Article Did you know that the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2009 has a world class judging panel?
posted: Jan 14th, 2009 The FSL Shamrock Showdown has become one of the prime events in 4-way competition over the years. This year's meet is the 7th showdown at Skydive DeLand. The Shamrock Showdown with its current format was first held in 2002. It was the third meet of the regular Florida Skydiving League season in 2002 and 2003. The FSL decided in 2004 to offer teams and competitors in Florida a longer winter break. The Shamrock Showdown has been the official FSL season opener ever since. The 4-way competition at the Shamrock has grown ever since and eventually turned into a top event when more and more world... (more)
News Article Did you know that the FSL Rookie Class teams are still on the top?
posted: Sep 25th, 2008 The NSL News goes back to the NSL Playoffs event of the Florida Skydiving League last weekend at Skydive City where the first part of the meet story left out the Rookie Class competition. It was a very special situation in the Rookie Class since three FSL lineups had signed up for the first time in the history of the Florida Skydiving League. Only the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2004 had five teams competing in this competition class, and four of these lineups were participants of the Norwegian Basic Camp in DeLand. (more)
News Article Did you know that the FSL teams posted record scores last weekend at Skydive City?
posted: Sep 22nd, 2008 Judy Celaya, veteran FAI and USPA Formation Skydiving Judge, kindly provided the AAA Class competition draw for last weekend's NSL Playoffs 2008 weekend at several different locations across the USA. She had a nice surprise for the teams that competed in the AAA Class at the end of the regular season. It was a fast draw that allowed the teams to post record scores. The AAA Class draw usually trickles down into the three other classes. It is always an interesting situation when the sequences are identical between two or sometimes even three competition classes. The teams then have the opportunity... (more)
News Article Did you know that teams from Florida swept last weekend's leaderboard?
posted: Aug 22nd, 2008 The 4-way Formation Skydiving world moves and changes quickly. The World Meet 2008 is over, even though the NSL News coverage will still continue for a while with reviews and event related stories. Other meets have already taken the place on the front page and on the leaderboard. The latest scores from Russia will be evaluated soon, hopefully before the upcoming nine meets this weekend will take the attention of the NSL News. The national championships of the United Kingdom, France, Netherlands and Czech Republic are on the meet agenda, plus several additional events in Europe and the USA. (more)
News Article Did you know that the Florida Skydiving League visited Skydive Miami for the first time?
posted: Jul 21st, 2008 The Florida Skydiving League visited Skydive Miami in Homestead for the first time in history last weekend. Teams from the Miami area have been competing at the other FSL skydiving centers for many years, and the number of teams with skydivers who grew up at Skydive Miami has even been increasing in 2007 and 2008. News Article Did you know that bad weather shortened the FSL meet at Skydive City?
posted: Jun 27th, 2008 Last weekend's leaderboard shows a unique situation in the AAA Class field. Team Teiwaz appears two times on the same leaderboard, and coincidence places both lineups right next to each other. This is not a mistake. Teiwaz actually competed with two different lineups at two different locations. Jim "Bu" Klinge, Rodney Cruce, Sean Sweeney and Kurt Gaebel competed at the Paraclete XP Money Meet 2008 in Raeford, while Derrick Thomas, Bruce Robertson, Bob Byrne and Dave Ruffell attended the June meet of the Florida Skydiving League at Skydive City. Teiwaz in North Carolina had better luck with... (more)
