NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that the Midwest Skydiving League features an exciting AAA Class competition this year?

CSC Rhythm at the Shamrock Showdown 2007
posted May 23rd, 2007 - The NSL News story on May 15 provided a preview of the Midwest Skydiving League's 2007 season, which will be launched with the first meet on June 2.

The new 2007 line-up of Skydive Chicago's Furies was introduced with the first MWSL story. The NSL News continues with the second MWSL team that will compete in the AAA Class this year.

CSC Rhythm has its home at the Chicagoland Skydiving Center and was already introduced briefly in a review of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007. The player-coach team around Robert Chromy competed in the AA Class competition in March this year and posted a 10.9 average after ten rounds.

Robert Chromy with Teiwaz 2006
CSC Rhythm consists of JaNette Lefkowitz (Center Outside), Laurent Beaudouin (Tail), Steve Lefkowitz (Point) and Robert Chromy (Center Inside). Andy Metcalfe is filming the team. MWSL Director Alan Butt reported that the team members are "extremely psyched" about this season.

CSC Rhythm will be guided by player coach Robert Chromy through the whole 2007 season. Regular Teiwaz competitor and professional 4-way coach Robert Chromy was an event coach for the Midwest Skydiving League at several meets in the past and has visited the region on a regular coaching basis, as well. His Center Inside position with CSC Rhythm will bring him to the Midwest even more frequently this year.

Steve and JaNette Lefkowitz with Evas Revenge
Laurent Beaudouin competed with MWSL AAA Class team CSC Rubicon last year. JaNette Lefkowitz was in the Tail position for the CSC Sirens throughout the 2006 season where the team attended a total of seven meets.

Steve and JaNette Lefkowitz caught the attention of the NSL News for the first time on 22 February 2006 after they had competed with a pick-up team (Evas Revenge) at the Valentine's Meet. It was the first 4-way competition for Steve Lefkowitz in February 2006. The NSL News story on 24 August 2006 provided more details of his progressive skydiving career. He had already joined CSC Rubicon at that time.

The performance at the Shamrock Showdown gave the team enough evidence of the great potential and additional motivation for the 2007 plans. CSC Rhythm plans to move up into the AAA Class next, and the team members look forward to competing in three of the four MWSL meets. CSC Rhythm will also compete in the Advanced Class competition at the USPA Nationals 2007.

CSC Rhythm debriefs tunnel training
Alan Butt added that CSC Rhythm is extremely passionate about 4-way and can't get enough of jumping and spending training time in the windtunnel. The team has planned for at least 300 jumps over eight long weekends at the Chicagoland Skydiving Center. The total time of 27 hours in the windtunnel will guarantee great individual and team skills.

The CSC Rhythm members will give back to their home dropzone and its skydiving community by organizing two scrambles events, which were scheduled for May 5 and September 22.

The MWSL competition between SDC Furies and CSC Rhythm in the AAA Class promises exciting duels at this year's meets. Both teams will probably push each other to higher performance levels and have the potential to contend for AAA/Advanced Class medals at the USPA Nationals 2007. The NSL News will continue with the introduction of more MWSL 2007 teams.
