Did You Know...

... that Round 10 was showtime for the Points?

posted Mar 16th, 2007 - Mission accomplished - the NSL-TV coverage of the Valentine's Meet 2007 is complete. It will not take much time until the next footage will be ready to make it to the NSL-TV online screen. The FSL Shamrock Showdown 2007 is next.

Airspeed Odyssey has been much in the spotlight throughout the NSL coverage of the meet in Eloy. The 22.2 world-class performance gave enough reasons to get back to Odyssey on a regular basis.

It will most likely continue the same way for the next few weeks. Andy Delk, Craig Girard, Mark Kirkby, Eliana Rodriguez and Will Pesek are already in DeLand and prepare for the next showdown, this time with the Golden Knights, Team Fastrax, Norway's Arcteryx and possibly DeLand Groove.

Airspeed Odyssey finished very strongly in Eloy. Round 10 was one of the best rounds for Odyssey, and the Eloy team could carry the great momentum into the first round in DeLand.

The sequence of Round 10 kept the Points very busy. The whole working time was a lot of individual flying for them, while the rest of the team was mostly flying in pieces.

Airspeed has a long tradition of world-class competitors in this slot. Jack Jefferies won several gold medals at national and world championships as Airspeed's first Point. John Eagle inherited the slot from Jack Jefferies, gave it his own style and added a few gold medals to the Airspeed collection.

It has now been Eliana Rodriguez' turn as the Airspeed Point for a few years. She has not won any 4-way gold medals at an FAI World Championship or at the USPA Nationals in this slot yet. However, she is on the way to add this missing piece to her own collection.

Eliana Rodriguez was already the first female competitor winning a gold medal in FAI's Open Class when Airspeed won the World Meet 2004 in 8-way. She also won gold medals in 4-way and 8-way at the FAI World Cup 2005. It seems to be only a matter of time when the World Meet gold medals will follow for her.

Airspeed Odyssey with Point Eliana Rodriguez is obviously one of the top contenders for this year's USPA qualification as the US national team. Any US 4-way team is always a contender for gold medals at the World Meet. Eliana Rodriguez shows in Round 10 of the Valentine's Meet 2007 what she has to offer in the Point slot for 2007 and 2008.
