Did You Know...

... that the French video drama of Round 2 can now be viewed on NSL-TV?

Exit Unipod of France Maubeuge
posted Mar 3rd, 2007 - The first round of the Valentine's Meet 2007 has already been replaced by the videos of Round 2, on the NSL-TV page and on the leaderboard. Viewers who missed the first round still have the opportunity to find the earlier videos at the separate NSL-TV page for this specific event.

Round 2 included the video drama of the French national team from Maubeuge. The official score of 15 points was so out of proportion that many people wondered what happened to France Maubeuge in this round. The video of this round now shows it all and makes it easy to explain the low score.

The new line-up has also a new and young videographer, Jean Baptiste Cugerone. The video shows that he lost the team right at the exit and did not get it back into frame until the whole first page was almost completed. The Unipod on the top of the second page was the first official scoring formation.

France Maubeuge lost five points in the first ten seconds of the jump. The team completed 20 points within working time and ended up with a 15-pointer on the scoreboard.

Airspeed Odyssey had the highscore of Round 2 with 21 points and completed the Unipod of the 5th page clearly within working time (34.78 seconds). Odyssey was almost two seconds ahead of France Maubeuge at that time. However, France Maubeuge would have lost only one point in this round without the video damage.

Jean Baptiste Cugerone and his team will surely evaluate the exit and learn from the accident. Any 5-point loss at a major event would most likely be very costly these days. France Maubeuge and Jean Baptiste Cugerone recovered well, as the videos of the next rounds will show.

Perris Fury completed the first Zircon of Block 18 on the 4th page well within working time (33.38 seconds) for a score of 19 points. The remaining working time was not enough to complete the whole block maneuver and get to the 20th scoring point. The Perris team still ended up four points ahead of France Maubeuge Round 2 and was actually up by two points over the French team after two rounds. This was the second place at that time, one point behind Airspeed Odyssey.
