Did You Know...

... that The DaneZ finally scored a new official national record?

Danish national team, the DaneZ
posted Jul 21st, 2006 - The competition draw for this weekend has just popped up on the front page, and the first scores are already posted. The reason for this surprise is the fact that Denmark completed its national championship event already during the week. The Danish meet organizers were motivated to be a part of the NSL/ESL meet weekend anyway and has asked the NSL/ESL management to use the same competition draw.

ESL and NSL agreed with the plan to hold back the draw and the scores until Friday, even though the meet in Denmark was already completed. It worked out well without any problems, and the international 4-way community now has the opportunity to also compare any results with the Danish scores.

Danish project team Vitesse
All ten rounds were completed in Denmark, and the national team, the DaneZ, won the championship, as it was expected. The DaneZ' 17.3 meet average includes two 27-pointers in rounds four and nine, and they will count as the official new 4-way record in Denmark.

The DaneZ had already scored a 35-pointer at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2006, which came along with a 19.1 average in DeLand. However, the FSL meet was not a meet where the DaneZ could officially score a new Danish record, as the NSL News reported with the story on March 29. The 27-pointers this week will be recognized as the new official Danish 4-way record.

Danish project team Elements
It was the third competition for the DaneZ this year and the highest average on home turf in Denmark. Rene Andreasen, Jesper Rasmussen, Jess Romer, Mikael Toft and John Petersen (camera) will travel to Germany next and represent Denmark at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2006.

All Danish teams improved their meet averages compared to the first meet of the Danish event series in May, some of them quite significantly. Both other teams of the Danish 4-way project did very well. Vitesse went from 12.5 in May to 14.5 this week and even tied the DaneZ' 13-pointer in round three. Elements improved the meet average from 10.3 to 12.1 and also confirmed the progress of the project teams.

Finish team Tigers
SkyXtreme had competed in the A Class competition in May and moved up into the AAA Class this week. The team's pace was apparently on the same level, as most of the scores show. Only three rounds caused problems with the new block techniques and kept the scores from being on the same level, as well.

The Tigers visited from Finland and competed as a guest team, this time in Denmark. The same team had already attended the June 3 meet in Sweden. It will soon be time for the Tigers to compete on home turf, as well. The championship event in Finland is scheduled for July 29.

The Tigers improved the team's average from 10.2 in Sweden to 12.5 in Denmark. This puts the Tigers in the position of the top contender for the national championship this year. The all-female line-up of Zooey has won the Finish Nationals in the last two years. Defending the title will be very challenging for Zooey this year.
