Did You Know...

... that the NSL SkyVenture Competition scores of the August 7 weekend are posted?

SkyVenture Orlando
posted Aug 16th, 2004 - Several of the new scores of last weekend's events are already posted. It is time to wrap up the August 7 weekend with the results of the NSL SkyVenture Competition.

The Southwest Skydiving League was the only NSL league competing that weekend. Additional teams attended a meet of the European Skydiving League in Finland that used the same competition draw.

Perris SkyVenture
Arizona Blade won the meet before handicap and with an impressive 17.7 meet average after six rounds. The NSL News reported earlier that Blade's line-up now includes Robert Healy in the Tail position. Blade with Healy continued the 2004 season's scoring progression (13.7 - 15.3 - 16.8 - 17.7) once again. The Arizona team had already won the NSL SkyVenture Competition two times this year due to the progression. Blade finished in second place after handicap this time.
Elsinore Adrenaline was in Blade's way to a third victory in the NSL SkyVenture Competition on August 7. The SSL August meet was the second competition for Adrenaline in 2004. Formed in 2002, Adrenaline began with a lot of built-in experience with John Hamilton (Elsinore Matrix and Arizona Airspeed) as the player coach, Lou Ascione (Arizona Inertia), Tammi Rettig, Jaqi O’Bryan and Dave Szkaradek (Elsinore Enigma).

After picking up Melanie Curtis to replace Jaqi O'Bryan, who took a slot offer of the U.S. Women’s Class team Syncronicity in 2003, Adrenaline trained hard to improve on the first year of competition. The SSL team had an exciting competition at the USPA Nationals 2003 in Lake Wales, Florida where Adrenaline ended up breaking a tied score in round 10 to take the silver medal in the Advanced Class with a 14.3 average.

Elsinore Adrenaline line-up
Lou Ascione left the team for the 2004 season taking a player coach position with Elsinore Fuse. Jon Martens replaced Ascione as the Inside Center. Martens is a veteran who competed with Formula4 and Elsinore Illusion. John Hamilton also took a player coach position in 2004 with Elsinore Satori and now competes against his former team. Jim Browning, former Arizona Inertia member, took the Tail slot and brought with him six years of experience in that slot. Shane Rex is the team videographer.

Adrenaline posted an 11.7 average at the SSL June meet and finished the six-round meet on August 7 in Perris with a 14.2 meet average. This was enough to take the first place in the AAA Class of the NSL SkyVenture Competition and 30 minutes of free SkyVenture tunnel time.

Arizona Divewerkz
Arizona Divewerkz won the NSL SkyVenture Competition in the AA Class. The Arizona team attended the fourth competition of the 2004 season. The August meet in Perris was the best one for Divewerkz. The 8.3 meet average in Perris was the highest one of the 2004 season (3.3 - 6.3 - 6.0 - 8.3) and included the first two-digit score in round three of the August 7 competition. Divewerkz consists of Point Blane Boynton, Outside Center Murel Addison, Inside Center Annaliese Peterson, Tail Paul Gatling and Alternate Brian Dewitt. The team's best result of the 2004 season brought the first place after handicap and will be rewarded with 30 minute of SkyVenture tunnel time.

The Perris Rebels won the AA Class competition before handicap with a 9.8 meet average and took the second place after handicap. Menage A Quad was the only team in Perris competing in the A Class, while five additional A-Class teams attended the meet in Finland.
