Did You Know...

... that V-Max took control in round six?

Great Britain's V-Max team members and fans

Round 6

posted Sep 9th, 2003 - The 4-way Women's event had the rattling noise in round six that the 4-way Open would have needed for more excitement. The Norgie Girls had major level problems with their Block 9 out the door and needed a good while to clean up the mess. Once they had the sequence under control, they were moving quickly and still posted 24 points in time. However, the damage was done, V-Max went through the sequence without any major issues and finished with 28 points in time. That was enough to take the lead by one point over the Norgie Girls. And the 4-way Women's event has become a tight competition again.
Former Synchronicity members Eliana and Lilac
It is even tighter for the bronze medal in the same class. Unfortunately for the U.S. team, they have become a part of this competition instead of competing for the gold medal. Synchronicity just cannot get to their usual performance level that they have shown in their training. The underdogs from Italy and France still stay in touch with the U.S. team. All three teams posted 22 points in round six and are still tied in third place after six rounds. Defending champions in this event and former Synchronicity members, Eliana Rodriguez and Lilac Hayes, were wishing their best when the U.S. team was on the Omniskore screen. It was not enough.

Round 7

The Norgie Girls did not seem to be too impressed with the V-Max steal of the lead in round six. After loosing four points in that round, they came right back with a very impressive performance in round seven. While the whole rest of the field (U.K., U.S.A., France) were finished after building the Ritz of the fourth page, the Norgie Girls went through the whole Block 19 and also completed the Zig Zag of Block 21. It was a big statement. However, V-Max is still only one point behind. Round eight will show if the Norgie Girls can extend their lead, or if V-Max will now make their move.Synchronicity is still stuck in third place and tied with the impressive French team. The U.S. team might have come close to the Norgies in this round though and shaken off France if a bad exit had not caused a very slow start. The 17 points have a higher value than the result looks like. However, only the numbers on the scoreboard count. And Synchronicity will need another round to possibly take the bronze medal position alone.
