Did You Know...

... that the 8-way competition in Eloy features Airspeed versus Italy?

World Class teams in the Open/AAA Class
posted Feb 18th, 2006 - The NSL News was busy all day long just updating the website with scores and meet videos for NSL-TV. The NSL News will follow up with stories and interviews later. The 4-way competition was obviously fun to watch, and the teams took advantage of the two faster rounds to finish with great meet averages.

The three top teams launched the 2005 season already with scores above the 20.0 average. Airspeed Velocity with the two new members Eric Gin and Thomas Hughes was probably the biggest surprise of the meet. The 21.0 average was the team's highest meet average after a total of four training jumps.

Italy prepares Sunday's jumps
The competition in Eloy continues tomorrow with the 8-way event. It will be the first test for the new Airspeed 8-way line-up, also with the newcomers Eric Gin and Thomas Hughes. There will be competiton for the reigning world champion. The Italian national 8-way team Ex3mo is in Eloy and prepared to challenge Airspeed.

Ex3mo is currently training at Skydive Arizona and has exactly the same line-up as in 2005. After averaging 14.5 already last year, the Italian team can be expected to score between 15.0 and 16.0 at this point. The new Airspeed line-up still has to get used to each other. It seems to be unlikely that Airspeed's average could already be up to the 20.0 average level.

However, everything is possible, and it is the first meet of the 2006 season. The six meet rounds will show where these two teams position themselves in February of the World Meet season. The NSL News coverage will begin with 8-way scores and NSL-TV video files on Sunday morning.
