Did You Know...

... that two MASL teams are making plans for the 2012 season?

A Class team Dirty Slots in action
posted Oct 26th, 2011 - The second part of the video with the slow sequences and the review of the competition draws between 2009 and 2011 had to wait for another day since the last scoring update from the MidAtlantic Skydiving League came in from Cross Keys.

MASL Director Dennis Miller reported that two teams competed in the AA and A Class and that a third lineup fell short by one team member even though new MASL videographer Matt Vasipollo was eagerly waiting to fly the camera slot again. The three other candidates for a third team couldn't find that elusive fourth to make it happen. Air Pollution and Teiwaz member Rob Fields was judging the videos of the two teams that completed five rounds.

In the A Class, Mariaelena Rodriguez and Fritz Carr put together a pickup team with Gary Kingsley and Lou Nieves. Dennis Miller said that a few exit funnels in the early rounds are reflected in the scores. However, the exits got better, and the numbers on the scoreboard did accordingly the same. Eventually, Mariaelena Rodriguez and Fritz Carr with Sky Phallix outscored their own Dirty Slots A Class results at the August meet.

Monkey lineup at the Karp Cup 2011 in July
Mariaelena Rodriguez and Fritz Carr are now looking to put together an AA Class team for the 2012 season and plan to compete in the Intermediate Class at the USPA Nationals 2012. They are also trying to form a lineup for the NSL Championship at SkyQuest 2011 in November.

MASL Director Dennis Miller himself had a slot with AA Class team CK Monkeys this time. He had competed with CK 500 against Monkey (4.2 - 8.8) at the Karp Cup 2011 in July. CK Monkey came back with two members of the July meet and two new players and matched the 8.8 meet average exactly.

The Monkey members enjoyed the 2011 events and also plan to continue in 2012. Dennis Miller said that the team is working on putting together a training plan for next year. The plans of the two teams set the foundation for the 2012 season of the MidAtlantic Skydiving League and for a good showing at the national championships.
