NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that UK delegation launched a "Free the Fun Flag" campaign?

UK skydivers launch the "Free the Fun Flag" campaign
posted Aug 4th, 2011 - It is about time for a Fun Flag update. The NSL News has been very patient so far, even though the third day of the competition has gone by without any sighting of the Fun Flag, neither in the spectator area nor in Tent City. Sevel teams and competitors have been highly aware of the Fun Flag situation and were looking forward to the event, like a member of the UK delegation prior to the event:

"I only recently heard about the Fun Flag, but I will make sure that the UK challenges for it. It takes a bit of subtlety to get it I reckon, but anyone who knows me knows that “subtlety” is my middle name. Bring it on!"

Frustration over not seeing the Fun Flag anywhere has been growing day by day, even though several Fun Flag hunters were seriously involved in trying to spot it. Eventually, members of the UK delegation decided to start a campaign today: "Free the Fun Flag".

"Free the Fun Flag" campaign flyers
The new video clip shows how unhappy the UK competitors are, and they are not shy of accusing the German delegation of not following the Fun Flag rules. They posted flyers at many locations on the dropzone asking for help to free the Fun Flag.

The NSL News went on a reconnaissance mission, as well, and asked several responsible participants about the whereabouts or any information. However, even Golden Knights member Laura Dickmeyer, who is an intelligence expert in the US Army, could not help much.

Eventually, Prof. Dr. Helmut Thiele, father of the two Thiele brothers in the German national 4way team Paratec-Saar (Jorn, Max) and veteran skydiver himself, promised to take care of the dilemma. He followed up, and the Fun Flag was flying half an hour later. However, it is still a flawed location since nobody can really see it so far at the dropzone. This will hopefully change before the competition is over, hopefully before the day is over. It would be a scandal, it is already a scandal...
