Did You Know...

... that 28 teams from five nations competed at the ESL Championship 2005?

ESL Champion 2003, 2004 and 2005: Spa Hayabusa
posted Sep 4th, 2005 - The European Skydiving League completed the 2005 season with its championship event on Friday and Saturday in Spa, Belgium, while the US teams are in the middle of the very last preparations for the USPA Nationals 2005. A total of 28 teams from six different nations and leagues competed in three competition classes.

It was no surprise that Spa Hayabusa defended the ESL 2005 title. The Belgium national team had just renewed its status after winning the Belgian national championship one week earlier and was the clearly the strongest AAA Class team of all ESL teams this year.

AAA Class bronze medalist Infinity
Spa Hayabusa still used the last opportunity of the year to improve the team's records and finally posted the first 20.0 average of the team career. The Dutch team Punky Fish took the second place with a 14.6 average, and the all-female Infinity won the ESL bronze medals.

Three teams from the United Kingdom won all ESL medals in the A Class, Helix, Zebra and Evolution. Two more UK teams, Escondido and D4, added gold and silver to the British collection in the Rookie Class, while Whoops from the Netherlands won the third set of medals for its country.

The NSL News returns to the US news updates next. Stay tuned.
