Did You Know...

... that Menzelinsk is promising to be a great host for the World Meet 2010?

posted Jan 2nd, 2010 - The basic information behind the newest logo and link on the NSL pages is actually not really new to the NSL audience. The NSL News announced already during the coverage of the FAI World Cup 2009 that there will be live coverage by NSL News and CamScore at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010 in Russia.

The actual event pages for scores and the usual news services have not been set yet, as the 2010 season has not even begun. In fact, there is still plenty of time before the major event of the 2010 season will take place. However, the Russian host has now set up his own website that provides basic information, and it really cannot be too early to direct attention to this event.

The NSL News has already mentioned in other stories quite a few times that next year's World Meet promises very exciting competition in all categories. Little will change with this promise between now and the start of the competition on 1 August 2010.

There is a whole competition season to come before the World Meet 2010 in Menzelinsk will bring the best 4-way and 8-way teams together in Russia. Many of the teams will use the growing number of league meets and other competitions to prepare for the World Championship. Most of the teams will already be well known to the NSL audience before they will post their first scores on the most important leaderboard of the 2010 season.

The most competitive teams will try to meet their opponents before they will compete for the top rankings in Russia. The Dubai competition in January will already bring together the three 4-way Open Class medalists of the World Meet 2008 in France for the first time, Arizona Airspeed, France Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge and Hayabusa Defence.

The FSL Shamrock Showdown 2010 and the World Challenge 2010 will bring the next results of the same top contenders, and some of the underdogs, such as Italy's Sinapsi, one of the Russian top 4-way teams and UK's Satori, will most likely join the same race early in the 2010 season.

The host in Menzelinsk will be well prepared for the ultimate 4-way and 8-way showdown of the 2010 season.

However, there will not only be the best Formation Skydiving competition teams in the world traveling to Russia at the end of July, which includes the VFS teams. The host in Menzelinsk will also welcome the best skydivers in Canopy Formation and in the Artistic events.

It will be a very colorful and exciting event that Meet Director Vladimir Gazetov plans to bring to a successful conclusion at the end of the first week of August 2010. The event website already offers enough information for teams, competitors and officials to see that the Russian host, headed by DZ owner Sergey Serendeev, will offer the visiting delegations a beautiful and professional environment for the competition.

NSL News and CamScore will once again make the best efforts to bring the event via internet to the worldwide on-line audience from Menzelinsk. The same combination of Judging/DZ-TV and news services have already been offered at a few events in the past, and more will follow before NSL News and CamScore will travel to Russia next year.

Shamrock Showdown and World Challenge will be at least two more events for NSL News and CamScore to prepare for the live coverage at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010. Additional events may be added to the same on-line combination.

2010 will be another year of exciting and growing competition in the Formation Skydiving community, beginning with recreational pickup teams on the Rookie Class level and finishing with most exciting races for gold medals on the world championship level in Russia.
