Did You Know...

... that today's skydiving activities in DeLand were dominated by Shamrock teams?

French B-Team Aerokart Amada
posted Mar 14th, 2010 - More videos and information of the Skydive EXPO 2010 in DeLand can be found at the CYPRES website. Today's activities were all outdoors, the exhibition hall was closed at the end of Saturday.

Team training for the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2010 was already dominating the activities at Skydive DeLand, while Arizona Airspeed members Craig Girard and Mark Kirkby were organizing fun loads for recreational skydivers and visitors of the EXPO.

It was an interesting situation when the silver medalists of the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2008, Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge, and the bronze medalist of the last world meet, NMP-PCH Hayabusa, obviously with a new team name, made their training jumps, while the Airspeed members were doing their EXPO job at the same time.

Russian team Friday 13
The high winds at noon grounded the recreational jumpers first and then the teams, as well. The teams had already completed a good number of training jumps before the winds picked up.

The Shamrock Showdown has already turned into a mini world meet or world cup, as several national teams and other international lineups from different countries have signed up for this year's event. Aerokart Amada from France, the French national team in the female category, Aerokart Deep Blue, joined the French Open Class team with training jumps today.

Kaizen from the United Kingdom has already arrived, and a new team from Russia began with the training today. Friday 13 is a new lineup with top competitors, and the NSL News will introduce it soon. More great news came from Russia, as Black Cat will also compete next weekend in DeLand.

Solly Williams and family
Denmark's national 4-way team Voluntas was also getting in the air today before the winds stopped all activities. Solly Williams is still working with the Danish team after showing off his new baby boy and wife Michelle at the EXPO yesterday.

There was also a new US lineup getting ready for the Shamrock Showdown today. The lineup of four former Teiwaz members is currently listed as BLOMP. The team name will most likely change soon.

It will be a busy week in DeLand, as all those teams will be in full training swing until Friday, and others will probably join closer to the start of the competition. It will be a busy week for the NSL News, as well.
