Did You Know...

... that Becca once again invites the bootie flyers?

posted Jan 18th, 2010 - FSL competitor and Skydive Sebastian local Rebecca Minkin organizes the 2nd Annual Becca's Bootie Boogie this upcoming weekend in Sebastian, beginning on Friday. The inaugural event last year was very successful, which motivated her to continue this year.

She has once again lined up great help, as several Formation Skydiving coaches and competitors had already worked together with Beccas last year to make the event a success.

The lineup of coaches and load organizers is even more promising this year since SDC Rhythm XP has made Skydive Sebastian the team's winter home and will be available, as well.

Rebecca Minkin with Rob Stevenson
The NSL News has covered Rhythm's journey from the team's beginnings to the tryouts at Paraclete XP in December 2009, where Thiago Muradas turned out to become the team's new Tail. Rhythm has become a full time team and is on the way to the top level of 4-way competition.

Thomas Hughes just competed in Canopy Piloting at the Dubai Championship, as the NSL News mentioned several times during the event coverage last week.

The world class 4-way competitor and coach, owner of the 4-way world record for a single round with Spaceland Force XP, does not get much rest after swooping in Dubai. He will also come back to Sebastian where he was coaching and organizing at last year's Becca's Bootie Boogie. He was also home in Sebastian when he trained and competed with the British national 4-way team Sebastian XL.

Rob Stevenson was XL's team videographer when Thomas Hughes competed for the team.

He is now training and competing on camera for the new British 4-way shooting star, Satori, which is already outscoring XL. Former XL member John McIver is a Satori member, as well. Rob Stevenson will also offer his experiences at Becca's Bootie Boogie this weekend.

Members of last year's home team at Skydive Sebastian, Sebastian Tempest, will also come back to their former home turf and skydive with Becca's bootie flyers.

Kris Peterson and Chris Ash have been training and competing with Tempest in the past three years and have become two of the best amateur competitors in the country.

SDC Rhythm XP 2010 lineup
Tempest has disbanded at the end of the 2009 season. Thiago Muradas moves on with SDC Rhythm XP, while the other three members are more or less taking a break from serious 4-way training and competition. Kris Peterson has accepted the leadership of a player coach team this year, and the NSL News will introduce the lineup soon.

This lineup of first class coaches guarantees that the jumps at Becca's Bootie Boogie will be well organized and that the participants will learn as much as they want to.

However, one of Becca's main goals was already last year to offer just as much fun and entertainment as learning opportunities. This year's agenda sounds very much the same:

Description

The goal of this boogie is to create an affordable RW training camp that will be beneficial to ALL skill levels.

To achieve this, we have brought in some of the nation's best RW flyers/coaches and will put them with SMALL groups based on skill level. This allows unique focused attention to the organizing not usually found at most boogies and allows people to learn more – whether they are beginner belly flyers, up-and-coming intermediates, or advanced 4-way teams.

Specials

We have made a concerted effort to make this experience of intense coaching at an affordable price. Registration at $30 is the cost of one coach jump! Registrants will be organized into small groups by skill level (established 4-way teams are welcome to jump only together if they desire), and coaching for the entire three days is all inclusive – this means design of the skydive, jumping with these champion flyers, and a full video debriefing.

Within the registration we are also including FREE DINNERS on both nights to nourish our hungry campers after long days of working so hard! Jumpers will be responsible for their jump tickets, and will share the video flyer's slot amongst their group. HOWEVER, because video is so crucial to the educational goal of this boogie, Skydive Sebastian is offering, exclusively for this boogie, the video flyers' rates at $15 per jump!

Registration - win free jump tickets

Registration of $30 includes all the top-notch organizers/coaches, Friday night pizza, Saturday night fully-catered BBQ dinner and party, plus drink specials. Participants are responsible for their own jump tickets, as well as sharing the cost of their video flyer's slot among the group. Everyone who pre-registers will be entered into a raffle to win a FREE JUMP TICKET!!! Three tickets will be given out!
