posted Oct 2nd, 2026 - Yesterday's NSL News update pointed out how Christy Frikken's activities for and around the Southern California Skydiving League motivated at least ten SCSL 4-way teams to compete at the USPA Nationals 2026, as well. Most of them posted their scores on the leaderboards in the Intermediate Class (AA) and Beginner Class (A), with Cheated Donuts winning bronze medals at their first national championship.

Christy Frikken did not have much time to supervise all the teams she had previously worked with at Skydive Perris and Skydive Elsinore. She also enjoyed another reunion with her SDC Rhythm XP teammates from 2020/2021. Team founder JaNette Lefkowitz could not continue after the team won the USPA Nationals 2019, and Christy Frikken took over her inside-center slot for the next two years, leading up to the following outdoor world championship.

It was supposed to be just one year of intensive 4-way training and competition after her time with Perris Fury, but that turned into two years when the next outdoor world championship was postponed by a year due to the corona virus crisis. The Tanay Mondial 2020 eventually took place in August 2021. Christy Frikken then retired once again from high-level 4-way training and competition. In 2024, Rhythm fan Robert Compton initiated the first reunion of former Rhythm members, and Christy Frikken has joined the Rhetirement Rhedux lineup every time since then. This year, she reunited with Robert Compton, Andrew Happick, and Steve Lefkowitz, with Kevin Naftzger on camera.

The 2021 season was a very busy one for Christy Frikken, not only because of her competitive comeback with SDC Rhythm XP and the trip to Russia for the outdoor world championship in August. Naturally, the U.S. team in 4-way Open wanted to get as much as possible out of their first world championship and had a busy training schedule.

2021 was also the year when USPA introduced the 4-way Beginner Class (A) at the USPA Nationals. Yesterday's NSL News update included some of the history, and one team from Southern California traveled to Skydive Arizona to participate in the new category. Several other teams did the same and were able to make use of the information Christy Frikken provided.

Christy Frikken's Formation Skydiving Blog included an article in May 2021 that was specifically aimed at teams planning to attend their first national outdoor championship. "The Stuff You Need To Know For Your First US Nationals" covered "Logistics - How the Meet Will Go", "The Important Stuff You Aren’t Thinking About", and "What-ifs". The introduction makes clear that the information was not intended only for teams competing in 2021. It remains relevant to 4-way teams today: "If you have never been to US Nationals, you probably have a lot of questions. Heck, even if you have been to Nationals, you might still be wondering. This guide will walk you through the basics of how the event is typically structured."
