posted Aug 6th, 2026 - Norway is the next country where the national 4-way teams are testing their current performance levels, with Agera Oceanside competing as the national team in 4-way Open and Thyra in 4-way Women. There is little domestic competition for either Agera or Thyra in their respective categories, and the two events are being held together.

All teams at the airport in Østre Æra currently have one thing in common: the weather has not been cooperating. However, the four AAA teams and four A Class teams managed to complete three rounds before they had to go on standby and wait for better conditions.

Agera Oceanside have lived up to the high expectations in the opening three rounds, despite a compromised start after receiving two point deductions in Round 1 due to the recording angle of the video camera. Their 18.3 average after Round 3 would have been a clean 19.0 without the video issue. An average above 19 would put them very close to the highest score posted this year by the potential contenders for the unofficial title of the world's amateur champions. Sweden's Echochamber currently lead the standings with a 19.5 average recorded just over a week ago. Skywalkers Most (CZ) and Airbus Illertissen (DE) will soon have the opportunity to post their own scores at their respective national championships.

Agera Oceanside at Norway's National Outdoor Championship

Thyra has been Norway's national team in 4-way Women since 2022 and represented the country at the team's first FAI Outdoor World Championship at Crystal Coast 2024.

The 2024 lineup featured Camilla Marnor, Alice Solberg, Christiane Wilhelmine Sørfjord Tuv and Ditta Valsdottir, with Dennis Barstad on camera, after Silvana Disch had to withdraw shortly before the competition.

Silvana Disch had been training and competing with Thyra since 2022, and Ditta Valsdottir took her place when she was unable to attend the event at Crystal Coast. Ditta Valsdottir is a former member of Norway's national 4-way Open team, Arcteryx, and stepped into the lineup at very short notice two years ago.

Silvana Disch returned to the lineup in 2025 and remained with the team in 2026, competing at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025 and the FAI Indoor World Cup 2026 in April. Unfortunately, she has once again had to withdraw from the remainder of the 2026 season, including the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2026.

CASK - Thyra at Norway's National Outdoor Championship

Thyra had the same solution available for the current situation, as Ditta Valsdottir was once again ready to fill the same vacant slot she had occupied in 2024. She stepped into the lineup for the ongoing event and will continue to train and compete with Thyra through the ten rounds at Skydive Arizona in October.

Thyra had to improvise even further. Original team member Christiane Wilhelmine Sørfjord Tuv is in the final phase of preparing for her university graduation and was unable to attend the national outdoor championship. Additional support came from Great Britain, where NFTO member Sian Stokes traveled across the North Sea to fill Thyra's open Tail slot.

Sian Stokes has an existing 4-way connection with Norway, having trained and competed with Pål Kolbenstvedt and the Dynos since 2023, most recently at the Wind Games in March. Pål Kolbenstvedt was an original member of the DeLand Norgies.

The heavily revised Thyra lineup, with only original team videographer Dennis Barstad remaining from the regular lineup, is competing on the AAA Class leaderboard. Former Thyra members Camilla Marnor and Alice Solberg are competing with CASK, who finished 12 points behind the full Thyra lineup at the national indoor championship in March. After three rounds, CASK hold a four-point lead over Thyra.
