... that Gary Smith provided insights for adjustments to the Top 10 positions?

Top 10 contender Out Of The Blue with new lineup
posted Mar 20th, 2026 - NMP PCH HayaBusa coach Gary Smith completed the initial revision of the NSL Power Rankings for the FAI Indoor World Cup 2026. He did so while transitioning from his work at the German Indoor Nationals, before returning to Belgium and NMP PCH HayaBusa’s upcoming ten competition rounds at the BENELUX Indoor Championship.

The most recent scores from Germany had only minimal impact on the NSL Power Rankings for the upcoming indoor world cup. Only the 4-way Women’s team Meltemi Oceanside Illertissen, competing with a new lineup, is registered for the event at Weembi Lille, and they are already considered a potential contender for the bronze medals.

The 4-way field at the BENELUX Indoor Championship includes several teams that will also travel to Weembi Lille in neighboring France next month. NMP PCH HayaBusa will once again aim to close the gap to the Aethers while fending off the Golden Knights, with the BENELUX Indoor Championship serving as a key warm-up event. The Dutch national team Out Of The Blue and Belgium’s Ayro will have the opportunity to prove that their status as expected Top 10 contenders is well deserved.

Echochamber lineup for national indoor championship
The door to the Top 10 has opened wider, as Dynos are no longer on the list of teams attending the indoor world cup. At the same time, Echochamber has withdrawn due to the recent eye injury of team member Martin "Smögen" Bäcklin. Echochamber will still attend the national indoor championship with alternate Mattias Nord and will then follow the indoor world cup remotely as spectators from Sweden.

Dynos and Echochamber were both securely positioned in the Top 10. In fact, both teams have consistently aimed to challenge the medal rankings at every event they attend. Echochamber has represented Sweden as the national indoor and outdoor 4-way team for many years, regularly competing at world cups and world championships. Dynos, meanwhile, consists of former national team members from three different countries.

The battle for the remaining Top 10 positions has become even more compelling, as four strong contenders are now competing for only three available spots. It is an international contest, with each team representing a different delegation: Out Of The Blue for the Netherlands, Ayro for Belgium, Les Krocmous for France, and Kairos for Great Britain. The new lineups of Out Of The Blue and Kairos also introduce two of the youngest competitors in the 4-way world. Kairos’ Tano Parker comes from a family with a long 4-way history, while Out Of The Blue’s Siem Ibens shares a similar background, as the son of Sven Ivens, an original member of HayaBusa.

Top of the 4-way world: Tom Mattoni (left) with Aethers
Tano Parker and Siem Ibens are part of a new generation of 4-way competitors steadily climbing the world rankings. Tom Mattonie is already at the top of the sport, while Ray Lodens is aiming to challenge him with NMP PCH HayaBusa. The full lineup of the Czech Skywalkers is equally ambitious, with clear goals of becoming 4-way world champions in the coming years. This entire group of emerging talent will be in the spotlight at Weembi Lille.

Gary Smith pointed out several positions in the NSL Power Rankings that required further review. The French team Les Krocmous posted a 23.7 average at the Weembinamic 2025, competing with Nephtys member Marie Pineau in their lineup. For the indoor world cup, however, Marie Pineau returns to her own team, and Mathias Barbaste steps in as her replacement. The French lineup still has the potential to maintain a strong position in the battle for the Top 10. At the same time, a large group of teams is waiting for any opportunity to capitalize on mistakes by the current Top 10 contenders while delivering peak performances of their own.

The Brazilian team Gen XYZ is positioned even higher within the Top 10, preparing to challenge the U.S. team Killers of Hopes and Dreams, with Jeana Billings and Kirk Verner in the lineup. Three members of Gen XYZ—George Narita, Jorge Neto, and Lucas Weiss—competed alongside Niklas Hemlin at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2026, finishing with a 25.3 average. George Narita’s former teammate Enrico Ce now replaces Niklas Hemlin, bringing experience at a 24+ average level.
