Did You Know...

... that the first NSL Power Rankings include 25 of the 27 teams competing at Weembi Lille?

4-way Open Class awards at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025
posted Mar 10th, 2026 - The most recent FAI/ISC indoor event was the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025 at Paraclete XP in April last year. The next event on the calendar is the FAI Indoor World Cup 2026, as indoor and outdoor world championships alternate every other year.

The upcoming indoor World Cup returns to Weembi Lille, where the third indoor world championship took place in 2019. That event at Weembi Lille also marked the first indoor world championship for 8-way teams, as the 16-foot flying chamber provided the space required for the adjusted 8-way indoor dive pool. Paraclete XP followed six years later with another 8-way indoor world championship competition in April 2025.

Registration for the event has now closed, with 27 teams in 4-way Open representing 16 different countries. The Czech Republic and Switzerland each have one additional 4-way team in their delegations, increasing the total from the 25 teams listed in the first NSL Power Rankings to 27. Eight of the registered teams represented their countries at last year’s indoor world championship at Paraclete XP. The U.S. delegation at that event was represented by Arizona Airspeed, shortly after the Golden Knights had won the national indoor championship. This year, the U.S. Army team will represent the United States—first at the indoor world cup and later at the outdoor world championship.

Belgium’s national 4-way team, NMP PCH HayaBusa, and the United States’ Golden Knights are once again expected to compete for the silver medal position behind the French Aethers, which Airspeed claimed in 2025. However, NMP PCH HayaBusa delivered a very strong performance at the Wind Games in January and won the most recent duel with the strongest U.S. team by 15 points. The Golden Knights will be eager to turn the tables again at Weembi Lille.

The Czech Skywalkers Most were the biggest surprise in April last year when they claimed 4th place and challenged the three medal winners round by round. By now, the rest of the 4-way world knows what to expect from the Czech Republic, and teams such as Echochamber (Sweden) and Fly X Amnesya (Italy) will be prepared to reclaim the ranking positions where the Skywalkers previously intervened.

It is once again an interesting aspect of the preview leaderboard that the strongest medal contenders are not only their countries’ national champions—they also train and compete in both indoor and outdoor environments. Only the Dynos have focused their 4-way training almost exclusively on indoor competition. In fact, to the knowledge of the NSL News, the entire lineup has not yet exited a jump plane all together. One of the strongest Top 10 contenders, the U.S. team Killers of Hopes and Dreams, also has only indoor scores in its team record, even though the members are all current or former members of the Paraclete XP8 outdoor lineup.

There is also one additional team in the Top 10 that does not fit into any of the official FAI/ISC categories. The Dynos lineup consists of competitors from three different countries: Sian Stokes and Vana Parker from Great Britain, Julien Degen from France, and Pal Kolbenstvedt from Norway. The team’s status was unknown at the time of the first NSL Power Rankings, yet the Dynos may have the strongest potential to outscore the Skywalkers. The same lineup finished 7th in the very strong Wind Games field with a 27.8 average.

Behind the seven potentially strongest teams in the indoor world cup field, there appears to be a group of six teams competing for the final three positions in the Top 10. At this year’s Wind Games, a 22.5 average was required to make the Top 10, which Monaco F1 secured by a single point ahead of the Russian Feathers.

Most of the same six teams have previous meet averages around 22.5 in their records. However, spectators can probably expect another very exciting battle in the middle of the 27-team field. As explained earlier, the indoor world cup will also feature the next duel between Poland’s Flyspot Sky4four and Lithuania’s Magic 4, who just completed their latest ten rounds in Poland. Other internal matchups can also be expected when 27 teams come together on a 4-way leaderboard.
